"University from the 1700's for crying out loud. What is not to like? Regard the incredible architectural edifices. A 15-minute walk leads to Quinpool Road where there are many shops, grocery stores, and late-night restaurants, brewpubs, and coffee shops. Bus to downtown Halifax, to and from, is a snap (# 1 down Coburg / Spring Garden Road) University dorm accom in Halifax, various campuses, is incredible value. Book EARLY though!"

My only 'grump' is the heavy banging of the entry door to the dormitory, folks coming and going and NOT being mindful to the gorilla-sized BANG of the door closing behind them. This was not an issue for me; but for my partner it most certainly was, I am not sure that anything can be done about the door itself. We DID bring this matter to the attention of the front desk-and the folks there were very understanding and in agreement. The shared bathroom / showers set-up was absolutely agreeable-no complaints.

"I came from Mumbai to Addis Ababa, then took a bus from Addis to Bahir Dar. This hostel was a gem with the value you pay. I asked them to buy the return bus ticket, pick up to the bus station in the early morning and they happily did. The best part was they helped me get an excellent tour package of the Lake Tana and the Blue Niles Waterfall, with very good price for one day, as I was tight with my schedule. The tour went very well with excellent and safe vehicles (car and boat), great guides, and all important places. The room I got has a queen size bed, shower and toilet attached, with good privacy and cleanliness. I stayed two nights and will do it again when I have a chance.Please support this property as well as the Bahir Dar. They are waiting and very happy to serve you to the best of their abilities."

"Kelly and his family are amazing hosts. We feel in family! :-) Kelly is so helpful and talkative, always able to give suggestions and help finding activities to do, contacts, etc. His son, Junior, went with us to many places and activities and we fell him like a younger brother! :-) All the family made us feel welcome and at "home far from home". Installations are simple, but in a nice location, in the countryside, quite and friendly place, not far from Goroka center/easy bus connections but we have everything we needed, even to cook our meals. If you want a simple and family place to stay, with someone who will help you around, this is the place! If once I go back PNG and Goroka, I'll stay here again! :-) Thanks Kelly, Junior and family! Hope to see you again!"

It's normal to have light and water cuts. But it's common in the region/general problem and not from the place.

"I stayed here after I had done a 12 day tour trough Mongolia. I just needed a room and shower for myself, since I didn’t have that for over a month (I was traveling elsewhere before the 12 day tour). I stayed 2 nights and the bed was super comfortable! The whole place is nice and clean and very close to a market where they sell everything for very cheap. It’s also an easy 20 minute walk from the central square. The lady was very nice and let me stay a bit longer on the day I had to check out, which was really helpful for me. Thanks again!"

Sehr rustikal, viele Moskitos im Zimmer, die ziemlich genervt haben, kein Ventilator, aber zum Schlafen gab es aber ein Moskitonetznetz! leider hat es immer wieder geregnet und da das Badezimmer draussen war, musste ich durch den Regen, am WC hat es auch geregnet, Kakalaken in der Dusche und dem WC

Unreliable WiFi and a couple of incorrect description posted on Booking.com (no indoor dining area, coffee maker) that are missing in the room.

It didn’t bother me but our room was adjacent road which has some car traffic. Closing the window blocked most traffic sound.

"Well located hostel just by Tavolucci bus stop, which meets Rimini shuttle. Very nice man running the place, does his best to answer any question. Ask him for directions to old town; there's a way up that'll keep you mostly off the dangerous roads, which lack any shoulder. Place has good kitchen, comfortable common area. Limited but enough hot water in showers. Very grateful for this budget option in San Marino, which can be pricey."

Freezing cold at night in dorm. It was warm just outside in hallway, so I don't know what the secret is to getting that into the room. Also, would be nice, more efficient, to have male dorm and let the guys use the three-shower room, rather than letting women lock it for one. Make one of the en suites the female dorm. Odd to pay for linens; just add to price. No outlets in dorm, but understandable in old building.

It would be nice to have curtains on the bunk beds as many hostels do for privacy

"A Pleasant Surprise at Palm Garden! We booked Palm Garden without checking any reviews—only afterward did we take a look and feel a bit unsure. My husband even told me not to say anything about the booking, just to see how it was when we got there. But to our surprise, from the moment we arrived, everything was wonderful. At the doorstep, we were greeted by Madu at reception, who welcomed us with the warmest smile—as if we had known her for years! 😊 Our room was spotlessly clean, very spacious, with a large comfortable bed and a lovely balcony overlooking a beautiful view. It was clear that the staff really care about maintaining a high standard."

The push shower was the only thing I did not like but that really doesn’t matter much.

"We had a wonderful stay. It's a good way to get to know the Uzbek culture, far away from the touristy areas. It's run by a family. Nigina and her girls cooked amazing fresh food every day. Best food we had in whole Uzbekistan especially the Plov, even the guides who stayed there it's one of the best they ever had. Raxmat is an amazing host he helped us with thing from the beginning till the end, with transportation or also with hike tours. The place is good for every type of travellers, there were also some families, solo female travelers etc. For us, we stayed 3 nights, it was nice to disconnect (they have wifi) but we never used it. There is plenty of things to do like hiking etc. We will miss this wonderful place. Thank you again Raxmat and Nigina!"

"After a year of traveling and staying in countless hostels, I can confidently say Mantra is easily one of, if not the best out there. Unbeatable rooftop with an incredible sunset view, indoor common room with cozy seating and open space, consistent organized activities, clean and comfortable facilities, cafe with tons of delicious food options, a perfect location, and absolute top notch helpful and caring staff. I truly cannot stress enough how amazing this hostel is!! I will absolutely be back."

"Cozy hostel, loved the shared space with couches. The host was amazing and had lots of recommendations for things to see and do in Prizren. It was also nice that the hostel was on a quiet street but was a quick 3 minute walk to the center."
