"Beautiful historic villa with lots of original switches, lights, fans, etc. Not modern but lovely and comfortable. I think there are only 7 rooms. We had one on the second floor that was enormous! Had an entryway with a dresser and mirror and bathroom off that, then into the bedroom, which was huge, with canopy bed, couch, desk, etc. Shared terrace in back and larger one in front. Really lovely. The staff are a delight and do everything they can to make you happy. Lovely pool! And, two darling cats. Thoroughly enjoyed the 4 nights and could've happily stayed longer. Highly recommend."

"Bathroom could've been a tiny bit cleaner. The tiles are antique so, of course, look dirty, but when water escaped the tub and we mopped up with the bath mat, we saw that the floor actually was dirty. The window fan needs a good clean too."

"The staff are wonderful. Miss Tea in particular, but really, all of the people who worked there were terrific. The location is great and convenient. Very comfortable bed. Good breakfasts and delicious food, generally. La Villa is a beautiful heritage home and it was lovely to stay here."

"A grand old building such as this will have its limits. Maybe you cannot fix the water pressure, or replace those beautiful old tiles that are worn out or stained, for example. But some things really MUST be attended to. In particular, the locks on the doors. Just replace them for goodness sake! Fighting to get in or out of the room every single time pretty much sucks AND is unnecessary. If you cannot repair the old ones, get new ones that work. Same with dusting old fixtures. At some point it's not charming, just grubby."

"Loved the old colonial French charm & decor. Just remember that this is an older building & bugs will get in. We stayed in adjacent rooms 5 & 6 and had the entire floor & balcony to ourselves. Good views. We also stayed in the family room 8, which was huge & had a separate living room that was awesome! Bathroom wasn’t so private though with the see through windows. Maybe they should put in tinted/frosted windows to maintain the aesthetics. Shopping & excursions were a short tuk-tuk ride away."

"We had dinner & drinks at their restaurant/bar and service was terribly slow due to only having 1 person working. Food & drinks were ok for a hotel restaurant. However, we loved the convenience of swimming & then being able to grab food without having to leave the hotel. Only downside is that the hotel’s backyard is close to a disco tech/bar and we could hear loud music late into the night."

"Lovely staff, and a HUGE room in French Colonial style with two terraces, one over looking .the river. There were great breakfast options (Cambodian or Western available and cooked fresh to order). The pool was fantastic, as were the poolside drinks. The onsite restaurant was also great and had many options. I would happily stay again."

"The bathroom had a curtain door but it was in a different space/in the 'foyer' of the room. This wasn't an issue for us, but may be for some people? Shower in a claw foot bath."

"La Villa is a charming place to stay. As a family of four, we had two rooms, one on the top floor, with another on the first floor of the house. The top floor room ran warm but the AC worked well. The other room, with its high ceilings remained cool throughout the day! The pool is a great way to cool off and the food was wonderful!"

"Had a lovely room in the original building of the Villa. Room decor was lovely - four poster bed, antique furniture. Very nicely restored. Very good location on the river and easily walkable to town."

"The new wing have walk in showers but I had a tub with a shower head and the tub is a bit high off the floor. If you have mobility issues you would not want to be in this room."
