Guest reviews for The Explorer Hotel
"Location is very close to airport and walkable to dinner, grocery, museums, etc. nice view over the water. Good breakfast. Reliable airport shuttle"
"Aucun."
"Room and restaurant were great. Gym was pretty good. Ground-floor common area was adequate."
"Nothing comes to mind."
"I love the size of the room. The location is good because rooms have terrific views. The staff were friendly and helpful. Shoutout to Kat at checkin, and Manual who manned the night shift at the front desk."
"The elevators were so SLOW!"
"Close to amenities like shoppers, clean and fresh looking, nice view"

"Room was nice. The location of the restaurant was also very relaxing with the snow scenery in the background. All the hotel staff were pretty friendly."
"The buffet breakfast was sub-par. The waitresses were nice but not very attentive. I had to ask for coffee refill a few times. The shower curtain was torn on top and should be replaced. When I messaged the hotel before our trip regarding the hotel shuttle pickup after midnight, they did not respond until a few days later. I had even left a phone message to the hotel manager and she had never called me back. Finally, I got in touch with a lady with the hotel reception on the phone. However she gave me wrong information about the shuttle bus saying that there would be no shuttle after midnight. Luckily, we were able to catch the hotel shuttle at around 12:40 AM at the airport by chance. Later I found out from a male hotel receptionist that the shuttle actually ended after 1 AM, not 12 AM."
"The hotel is perfectly located in a central area, making it convenient to explore. The staff were wonderful, friendly, and very helpful throughout our stay. The rooms are clean, comfortable and very clean."

"The cards required to operate the elevators were a plus"
"No restaurant available during my stay"
"These were by far the most comfy beds with the best pillows of our trip for me! I always travel with my own memory foam travel pillow as most hotel pillows I’ve experienced are fluffy feather pillows that compact down to nothing and end up feeling like I’m sleeping on a brick! But not at The Explorer Hotel! The beds were like a big warm hug with a lovely soft but supportive pillow! The fireplace in The Traders Grill was a beauty! The nachos at The Trapline Lounge were delicious! (Real cheese!)"
"The undesirables that decided it was their right to sit in the pub and have a beer and then not pay for it. 👎"
"Had a nice meal in the lounge. Appreciated the early shuttle to the airport."
"Would be nice to have 2 people on the front desk at times. There was an issue with the reservation of the person in front of me and it took half an hour to get it resolved so that I could take my turn to check in. And I had checked in online. That didn't seem to speed things along at all. I have stayed at other hotels where if I check in online, they send a digital door code so that I can just arrive and go to my room without having to 'check in' with a person. This would be more efficient."
"Room excellent, bed very comfortable, room quiet, staff pleasant and very helpful and shuttle was great."
"The gym needed cleaning. Floor was quite dirty."

"It was great I loved that it was walking distance to dollarama for snacks for the kids"
"The location of the property is excellent for viewing the Aurora Borealis as it is located on the shore of Great Slave Lake which provides ample open space when the lake is frozen in the winter for a great viewing experience. The accommodations were comfortable and clean and well heated, a plus for a winter visit like ours.. Ben, the substitute on-site manager was extremely helpful during our stay. Yellowknife is a wonderful small town to visit and enjoy during the winter"
