"Our stay at this lodge was the highlight of our trip to Tortuguero. Owners Gloria and Sergio are incredibly welcoming and make you feel right at home. The facilities are charming and cosy, but the real star is the location—peacefully tucked away right on the riverbank. We highly recommend the morning boat tour through the National Park with Sergio. He is an EXCELLENT guide with a keen eye for spotting wildlife; he showed us a fantastic variety of birds and animals we never would have seen on our own. Logistics note: The cabanas are in a quiet village just north of the main Tortuguero hub. Sergio provides boat transfers at a very reasonable price, turning even the commute into a mini-safari by stopping whenever he spots wildlife along the way!"
"The only drawback is a nearby restaurant that plays loud music during the day, though this is clearly beyond the owners' control and didn't dampen our overall experience. We highly recommend this gem!"
"Gloria prepared the BEST breakfast every morning. The pool was wonderfully refreshing. Sergio provided excellent tours -- we got the absolute ULTIMATE experience watching a giant turtle lay and bury her eggs. Gloria and Sergio accommodated every request graciously and made us feel welcome. We were happy to be 10 minutes (by boat) away from noisy and commercial "downtown" Tortuguero."

"Wonderful 2 day stay! We contemplated staying at a large resort on Park grounds, but the quality of the canal and night tours at Cabanas Daneysha are superior to the large groups that the large resorts offer. We got very individualized service. If you’re coming to Tortuguero National Park, stay here, you will not regret it. Gloria and Sergio are very customer focused!"

"The breakfast was excellent. Gloria made great tasting food and was flexible in the timing of breakfast. The location in San Francisco was very good for any tours. It is also quieter than Tortuguero which we liked."
"The bed was very uncomfortable which is difficult for us given that we are older. 65+. The nighttime walking hike was unsatisfactory due to difficulty understanding the guide and not much to see. The river cruise was very good and the guide, Gloria’s brother was very good."

"Gloria and Sergio make you feel like family and provide such a high level of hospitality. Whether it is Gloria’s delicious breakfast and itinerary planning or Sergio’s knowledge of the surrounding ecology when he takes you on a boat tour, it truly feels like a one of a kind experience."

"Sergio and Gloria were amazing hosts! Sergio took us on amazing boat tours around Tortuguero and even helped us know where to go to get the best hiking and food experiences. Gloria was lovely and made delicious breakfasts and kept the facility and rooms clean. We also got a special night tour with Sergio’s neighbor and best friend Norton! We saw many animals and fantastic nature with our tour guides."

"My bf and I loved the hosts, humble and attentive. The hostess is very communicative, Gloria makes your stay pleasant due to the tours and advices she offers, the tours were guided by her husband, Sergio who speaks English as well, has lots of knowledge and the fact that you were in a private tour and transported from the Cabins to the tour and viceversa. It’s very secure and lovely"
"May be in the future they could add a tiny pool or something because it’s very hot and the beach is kind of far away to go by foot, so the guests can refresh themselves"

"I stayed only one day, but everything was great. Cabana was in the middle of garden with a lot of birds in the morning. It was clean, spacious, nice, with air-con for good price. And Jorge was very friendly and helpful with everything. 100%!"

"The house was great - it was very clean, had good AC and hot water and a lovely back garden. It was situated on a quiet and peaceful street an easy walk to both the national park, supermarkets and the bus station. It was the best place we stayed at in CR. Also the host was super kind and generous. We arrived several hours before check in and he met us at the bus station, let us store our bags while house was being cleaned and drove us to the national park. We had a fantastic time."
"New building. The rooms are clean and look fresh. The staff is very polite and takes good care of the guests. The pool is small but nice. Breakfast is standard but good quality. (The bus stop is 100 m from the hotel)."
