"The location was quiet and calm since it was on Elephantine Island. The view of the West Bank was very nice. Also Talaat the owner has sent over info in advance for tours and can arrange for you a day before going. He also picks you up from the ferry port on Aswan side and explains the tours and locations, which was very helpful for us."
"The shower may get cold once you use the hot water for while, so that is something to keep in mind."
"Incredible river view, in a beautiful, quiet, peaceful location. The staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable."

"The guesthouse is on elephant island and there is a private boat transfer which made the arrival despite the late arrival very comfortable. We booked the transfer from the airport also with the owner and thus a perfect connection from taxi to boat was assured. We loved the location, our room had a little balcony with two comfy chairs overlooking the Nile. The owner and staff were exceptionally polite and helpful, we forgot one bag in the room and the owner brought it the next night to the cruise. Amazingly friendly!"
"There is nothing not to like. It's a charming little place :)"
"Amazing little place, only 4 rooms, with 2 of them facing the Nile with a small terrace. Talaat, the host, is very friendly. Breakfast in the morning is Egyptian style and very tasty. It's on the quiet side of Elephantine Island, so no noise from Aswan City. The views are absolutely stunning."
"Rooms are very small, terrace gets extremely hot which made it unusable after about 12pm (I suggest some kind of sun sail)"
"Talaat - I believe the owner, was very accommodating and helpful The property and breakfast were just fine - what you’d expect for the price point"

"The owner was very communicative. He had his private boat waiting to shuttle us to Elephantine Island and the guest house. His staff were very friendly. They woke up to make us breakfast to go at 4 am for our Abu Simbel trip (which they arranged). The guest house overlooks a beautiful, quiet branch of the Nile, with a nice rooftop terrace. There are several good places to eat and stores in easy walking distance. Full use of a small kitchen for those who want to cook for themselves or just make coffee. The room was clean and cozy. Upon departure our flight got bumped up on short notice, and the owner got us there for a very reasonable fee given the circumstances."
"Wish we could've stayed longer!"
"The views from the house are incredible, and Breakfast was also excellent. I didn't feel pressured to book tours during my stay. ~10 min walk to the north side of the island where there are more dining options."

"The owner Talaat was very welcoming and will even meet you to help you get to the island No worries. Get some money from mainland ATM machine before crossing. The room was small ,my thinking around 18 square meters or 180 square feet.. But adequate for a few days of touring around. Talaat the owner can arrange boats if needed . The owner cooks breakfast every morning and will serve it on the terrace! The views are very beautiful! Breakfast was delicious 😋. Very quiet location and only a short walk to ferry for 10 EP to mainland ..We enjoyed a few days on Elafantine Island.People on the island are very friendly too ! 8 minutes to cross to mainland. ... Internet was stable .."
"Booking.com had errors in size of room so be aware of this . I did mention it to the owner. The island has limited resources too so remember this if you need more stores and things or restaurants.. It is a little primitive for many but has its unique charm too ! Bring mosquito spray as they can be problematic in the warmer weather. It's a "wet bathroom" so be aware of this when booking. With some people it is not an issue, others don't like it . Just the ,'heads up' on this .."
"Lovely little new hotel on Elephantine Island. We stayed in a room that, as the name suggests, had an absolutely heavenly dream view of the Nile lagoon surrounding the property. The included breakfast provided on the balcony of the room with that view will forever be a highlight of my trip to Egypt. The property is well designed with a lovely indoor sitting area in the common space. The owner is very knowledgeable about the area and able to arrange any tours or activities you wish to undertake. Furthermore, the hotel provided the boat required to get from the mainland to the island. A highly recommended choice of accommodation, especially for couples, for those looking for a quiet escape from bustling Aswan city!"

"Baraka Camp is a place of friendship, relaxation, and beauty. I spent a week here on my own as a solo female traveller, and had a wonderful time. I felt completely safe and met lovely other travellers both from Israel, Egypt and Jordan. The staff is most hospitable and helpful, and always come with a good attitude. The food is tasty, and better than many places around, they make the effort to even plate the dishes beautifully. The beach is sandy, but to get into the water, you have to walk on a soft flat rocky area that leads to the drop off where you can go snorkelling. Unfortunately, the reef around South Sinai seems to be suffering in recent years, but they are still fish and corals. The bungalows are new, with a new clean bathrooms, and have hammocks at the front. You get clean bedlinen, and nice blanket, and all the electricity works! I will definitely be back!"

"Amir Palace Hotel is located in a working-class neighborhood near the station. I’m the side streets there are all kind of small shops and market stalls. The staff of the hotel do not speak English very well, but they are friendly and helpful. They arranged for me to travel to Abydos by taxi and with a translator to visit the famous Temple of king Seti I and the 5,000 year old enclosure of king Khasekhemwy."
