"Location was beautiful in a small french village, the room was a very nice size and although the home (hotel) is over 400 years old, the rooms, especially the bathroom are the perfect blend to make for a very comfortable stay. Great wifi, was able to give a video presentation to a university in USA while staying there. Took two lovely hikes from the hotel, trails were close and easy to get to."
"Nothing that we didn't like however we did not anticipate that taxis would not be readily available at the San Sebastian airport. Also there are limited taxi services in Sare, the hotel was wonderful in assisting us with securing taxi service but if the hotel/area was busier, it would have been a challenge. Best bet would be to rent a car."
"The hotel was exquisite. Beautifully decorated, very clean and comfortable. The pool was an extra bonus! Our family of 4 was very comfortable in the suite. The food was delicious and the staff all very accommodating and helpful."

"We stayed at Hotel Arraya in the lovely village of Sare and absolutely loved it! 💛 This charming historic house is run by a wonderful family whose warmth and hospitality made us feel truly at home. Everything is cared for with so much love and attention. The restaurant is excellent, and the location is perfect for exploring the Basque Country and the Pyrenees. The only thing we didn’t like was having to leave. 😊 We’d love to come back and highly recommend this beautiful place!"

"Great old hotel with modern updates. Good Spar supermarket nearby. Restaurant was disappointing as the menu lacked beef or lamb. Other Australians staying said the same. Fancy food but disappointing. Great location."

"This hotel has everything - ambience, comfort, modern facilities, gracious hosts. the property was historical but with modern updates. the pool was perfect. when we arrived, tired from a long day of hiking, Laurence suggested changing our room to one with a bath so we could soak our tired feet. so thoughtful! The food at the restaurant was fantastic too. The chef puts both heart and ingenuity into his dishes."
