Guest reviews for Hostellerie du Vieux Pérouges
"The location in the center of a medieval village was just incredible, felt safe and other-worldly. The nearby restaurant was excellent and offered local dishes. The period furniture felt authentic. The garden outback overlooked the countryside and was dreamy at dusk."
"There were a couple visible cleanliness issues. We were only staying one night so we didn't mention anything. The staff was very kind and I am sure these were oversights."
"Amazing Atmosphere! Amazing Staff! Amazing Room! Amazing View! Amazing Dinner! Amazing Village! What more can I say! Oh, my breakfast was just fine, but not amazing! Thanks again! Had fun climbing the stone spiral stairway to my room! 😄👍🇨🇵"

"Been there several times, but first time staying there. Loved it!"
"Not enough plug ins. Had to unhook lights to use outlets."
"I love the medieval village and the hotel. I would love to stay a week and wander through the narrow streets, sit by the fire with a book and eat galettes. It is comfortable and special."

"The location—on the main square of a town that is a true historic treasure."
"The facilities are not great. The bathroom needs an upgrade and the bed is far too small."
"The room. Spacious, the view from the room and the history. If only the wall can talk, you feel like there’ll be lots of stories to tell. There’s also a lovely garden and a big sitting room. Great location. But we don’t have a vehicle so it’s challenging for the driver to get there because it’s in a medieval village."

"Wonderful medieval town! Best I've seen when it comes to that. The hotel was very clean, the rooms (we got one for my husband, son, and I and another for daughter and son-in-law) were both nice and included a full bathroom with both tub and shower. We thought the rooms were a decent size too, ours, with three beds and a desk was on the larger size, more like US rooms. The second room was a decent size as well, unlike some mini rooms in Europe as compared to US standards. We walked throughout the town and also went outside of the walled area, nice, peaceful nature walk."
"Nothing not to like. unless you're looking for an action-oriented stay as this is a peaceful location to visit just outside of Lyon. We prefer the smaller towns over the large cities. City life can be experienced anywhere, anytime."
"The staff was very welcoming and helpful. They did also help me before my stay with answering my questions and accommodating my requests. I did enjoy the history of the place and the family owned aspect of it. Furthermore, the location is magical and the room was spacious. The restaurant was also a great experience, very cozy (due to the fireplace and decor) yet of high standard. Great traditional dinner and breakfast. I had high expectations of the place and it delivered."

"This is an elegant hotel in multiple medieval buildings. It is enchanting. The town is gorgeous. It is well off the beaten path. The dining experience reminded me of traveling with my parents as a teenager. Perfect."
"It was great"

"A very nice place to stay, quiet in a small but pretty village. We had an apartment furnished with everything and a lot of space for two people. Good continental breakfast with delicious home made cakes! It was a pity we stayed just one night: it's a perfect place to spend some time and visit the surroundings."
"We liked the great welcome from the owner and the good food."
