La Villa Augustine

"Very well equipped small studio apartment. Kitchen/diner with microwave, cooker, fridge, coffee machine, small table and two chairs. Small separete toilet. Bedroom with quirky shower in the corner, bed OK, mattress nearly on the floor so a little low, but comfortable. Rooms and furniture well designed, apartment has lots of character, tastefully furnished. Top floor of a typical Normandy town house, walking distance to several local restaurants, town centre 7 minutes walk away. On narrow one way road with pay for parking on left side. Excellent bakery 2 minutes walk!"

"The apartment is quite small at the top of the house with some very low ceilings - adds character but careful of your head in places! Parking can be a problem, though there are free car parks within a few hundred yards, and parking meters on the street outside are not expensive."

"The location was excellent, with the city centre, the port and the beach within easy walking distance. The rooms were very comfortable with attractive decor. There was adequate storage space for our bikes. The owner (Colin Rowan) provided excellent guidance on shops, restaurants, bars etc."

"Colin, the owner of this lovely guesthouse, was extremely personable, knowledgeable and helpful for all things related to Dieppe! And his renovation of the villa is truly beautiful -- we had the room on the top floor with a kitchen area and all the amenities that you could want. The house is on a quiet residential street only a 10 minute walk from the station and the harbor/town, which was very sweet. Colin suggested a walking route through town and gave us a great recommendation for a restaurant on the water, which had the benefit of facing west for the sunset. All around a lovely stay!"

"It was a great place to stay, very central to Dieppe, with a good bakery just over the road. The owner Colin made us very welcome and was happy to recommend various restaurants and places to go. The house was pleasantly quirky with interesting decor and was well equipped. Everything worked well and it was very comfortable. We went to the Saturday market in the town which was fabulous. Lots of local traders selling all sorts of food - we bought lots!"

"The hotel owner met us outside and showed us to our room. Although the language barrier was a challenge, we were able to understand each other. We're grateful for his understanding; he was able to explain the location of the nearby attractions, the embankment, the market, and restaurants."

"Just everything! The location, the welcome, the spacious and well equipped and tastefully designed and decorated rooms, and shared areas to relax in. We only stayed one night but would love to return. We walked to the ferry port but there is a bus from the railway station, which is just minutes away. The town is lovely with plenty of eateries and attractive architecture. It was good to see it is still lively in January."
