Guest reviews for Haystack Hostel
"The facilities were clean, the room was comfortable, the kitchen was well-stocked, everything was at a comfortable temperature, and the floor was quiet. Everything I could’ve hoped for from a hostel stay."
"Nothing - everything was great."
"Everything was great (except the space betweenthe top bed and the ceiling), loved the showers."
"I got the top bed out of 3, and the space between the bed and the ceiling was to small. Every time you want to get on the bed, you would hit you head or had to enter the bed in an uncomfortable way."
"the haystack hostel was really clean, organized, and the facility was well-maintained. my favorite part was the common area with the tables, pillows and books - it really made the space feel homely!"
"perhaps paper towels aren’t used in the country as much but it would be helpful to have some in the kitchen especially. also facial tissues."
"Friendly, spotless and the location was perfect to walk everywhere."
"Aucun."
"The staff were so kind. My first time in Edinburgh, travel weary, bit turned around; but they were always kind, patient and friendly."
"The stairs , haha"
"It’s was a nice stay . Perfect for solo backpackers"
"It was a confusing to find the building"
"I had specifically asked for a late check-in, as I was reaching Edinburgh quite late at night. The haystack team was really considerate and did provide me with check-in assistance even at 12am at night. The beds were very comfortable, and both toilets and showers were clean. The common kitchen was well equipped too. The location of this hostel is the best for someone who likes to stay in the heart of the city and doesn't want to spend a lot of time commuting to major attractions."
"I had opted for a bed in a shared dormitory; due to my late check-in time, I had to take an upper bunk bed. The only uncomfortable part of this was the steps that led to the bed. The climb would hurt the foot a lot."
"Amazing location, friendly staff, clean facilities"
"Aucun."
"It was very clean. The showers exceeded my expectations."
"This is out of the control of the hostel, but it was noisy on the street and we needed to keep open window open to cool the room. Also, the doors were noisy as people would come and go."
"Location was perfect, right in the popular area of the city across from train and around the corner from bus station. Super clean, super nice personnel, fantastic kitchen, hot water dispenser. Nice guests. Music playing, fun atmosphere."
"Too crowded in 12 person and 8 person room, too crowded and noisy. There is no elevator and it is on the 4th floor. Not enough sinks for some reason. No where to use a hair dryer in bathrooms, no outlets."

"All the staff were very helpful and very friendly. The proprietress Anne goes out of her way to help."
"It’s a lovely house and the landlords made the family feel at home the minute we stepped in. Double room for us downstairs and two adjacent bedrooms for our teenage children upstairs. Another couple was staying and we shared the drawing room/bar with them to watch the semi finals of Euro 2024. Very clean and pleasant home, great breakfast, good hiking, a few minutes by car to the beach."
