"The place is big and well equipped. It's also very clean. If you are looking for air conditioning and hot water, this is not the place but honestly I didn't need them during my staying. I advice this place for solo travellers. The place is very central. You find everything you need, from historical places to markets and restaurants. Joshua, the owner of the place is a very kind person, always available and committed to improve your staying."

"This place never disappoints. This was my second time staying here and it still exceeded my expectations. The flat I stayed in was spacious and thoughtfully designed with some artful collections of antique Swahili style furniture. There was access to a private fully equipped kitchenette with an adjacent outdoor dining/ lounging area. The room was airy and well ventilated and also had a very spacious bathroom that had great shower pressure! Joshua is an exceptional host, responsive, warm and welcoming and very attentive. He has even made provisions for Solar lights in case of power outages which were infrequent during my stay and only lasted a few minutes at a time. The Wilderbeeste provides all the comforts and necessities of a home away from home yet its quirky and historical design provides a sense of adventure and novelty needed for a retreat! Can't wait to return for a longer stay!"

"The location is great, walking distance to everywhere but still quiet apart the mosques. Impressive Swahili architecture. Joshua is a very attentive and friendly."

"I had a very nice stay. It is an old, interesting house with so much character. Very comfortable and Kahindi was very helpful to me. Perfect location in the old part of Lamu."

"Everyone was really kind and willing to help. You could ask and get help whenever needed (doing the laundry, advice for restaurants, means of transport, etc.) Moreover, the view from the rooftop was amazing and the architecture of the building fascinating. Definitively worth it!"

"Everything good, the house is beautiful and the owner is a great person. The town also is good. The only thing that I do not like is the islamic muezzin that at 5:00 am start to tallk aloud and keep talking for 40 minuts... This is very unrespectful and unhealthy behaviour."
