Hostel Nice

"Really great place to stay in Karakol. Janyl is super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, and, a rare bonus around here in my experience, speaks excellent English. The beds were comfortable, everything (bathrooms, kitchen) worked well and was well stocked. There was plenty of space to meet other people, work in peace (at least in the quiet winter season when I was there) or chill. The location is at the quiet southern end of town, close to a park, supermarkets, marshrutka routes and ski rentals."

"Staff is very welcoming and very helpful, recommended good restaurants to eat in and helped us plan the Ala-Kul trek and explained how to get to the places we needed. Also let us keep our stuff in the storage room while we were away in the trek Very nice place overall, clean and cozy"

"- really deserves the high rating (i've been surprised at other kazh-kyrg highly rated places that really aren't so great) - owners live in house next door but readily present, and helpful with info - great dorm beds with light, curtain, power - enough bathrooms and toilets - great kitchen with 2 cooktops, fridges, and plenty of space - clean and uncluttered; excellent large lockers - one of the few hostels with has info board with some local info (could be expanded a lot for town features) - outdoor spaces: porch, yard, undercover area - location: 15 mins easy walk to central Karakol, through parks and streets - handy to other places such as Duet cafe and a bar nearby there"

"The hostel was recommended by a solo traveler we met in bishkek and I am glad I took the recommendation! The amenities - wifi, toilets, kitchen, showers, the patio, the garden were excellent! We stayed in the yurt which is for 2 people, It was our 1st yurt experience and we loved it 101%. It’ll get cold at night so ask for extra blankets just incase. There are fruit trees in the garden and we asked Janyl(the owner) if we could pick some and she let us. We got apples and pears for our hike. We wanted to do the Ala-Kul Trek and Janyl helped us booked everything which is very convenient - the transportation to the first bridge and the yurt we stayed in Sirota! She would help you with everything you need, so don’t hesitate to ask. If you’re into hostels then this is for you!"

"Probably my favorite hostel I’ve stayed in so far in Central Asia. Loved the outdoor patio and garden. Met really great people here, and the host was always available to answer questions and help with arranging activities in the area."

"We stayed in the five-bed private room for 1 week and loved our time there! The room was clean, the shower was hot and strong, the shared kitchen had two stoves and plenty of pots and pans for cooking. There is also some lovely mountain view out from our room on the second floor! We particularly loved having our morning coffee out on the patio overlooking the lovely garden. Janyl spoke really good English and was very warm and easy to speak with. She lives just next door so it is easy if you have any questions or need help. All in all we loved our time at Nice Hostel and hope to return one day!"
