"Thanks to the staff who was willing to help me in my sick condition. They cooked special chicken soup, as I requested, advised regarding the nearest pharmacy and helped me to check in 2 hours in advance. I was so exhausted after the flight and felt very sick, so it was huge assistance from the staff of this hostel to allow me to check in earlier"

"Gecko Hostel is always my go-to place whenever I visit Siem Reap. It truly feels like a home away from home. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality. The staff and management are absolutely amazing—friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with anything you need. They create such a comfortable and positive atmosphere that it’s easy to relax and feel at ease. The hostel is well-organized, clean, and thoughtfully designed, making it perfect for both short stays and longer visits. What really sets it apart, though, is the people—they make every stay memorable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Siem Reap . I wouldn’t stay anywhere else."

"I had a wonderful stay at Gecko Hostel and even ended up extending my stay because I enjoyed it so much. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect — close to restaurants and the night market, yet still quiet at night. The whole place has a warm, relaxed vibe that makes it easy to meet other travelers. Overall, a great stay in Siem Reap. I’d happily come back and recommend it to others."

"Perfect if you want real privacy. They say the mattress is hard, but I like it. You have to keep in mind that it depends on each person; they have their own tastes and needs. The owner is friendly and direct. Do you want the place to be central? But the owners are fake."

"Important Note! The Phnom Penh airport changed locations in October last year, so this is now about 40 min - 1 hr away from the airport. This is such a wonderful hostel run by truly wonderful people. I was very comfortable in my private room, the bed was so cozy and there was a TV, air conditioning, a mini fridge, small toiletries and a clothing rack. There is so much love and care put into this place and I truly felt like the owners cared about me having a good experience. They even made sure I woke up on time in the morning for my flight! I would stay again if I came back. It's not right in the middle of the city center, but the hospitality makes it so worth it."
