"Calm retreat from a busy town, with lovely spacious comfortable bungalow rooms in a hilltop garden setting with expansive views. Run by a delightful Cambodian-French family who cook delicious dinners (set menu but they can adapt for vegetarian) and simple but satisfying breakfasts. They are also very helpful with ordering tuk tuks from town and helping you catch your bus! Highly recommended you’re looking for a peaceful escape—thank you, Nico and family!"

"The resort is situated in a picturesque area with nice walking paths. It has the most relaxing atmosphere and I highly recommend it if you need some quiet time and a break from the city life. We hope to come back soon."
"It’s not just about the resort but Mondulkiri in general, having an appropriate car makes it easier because some roads are challenging, especially around rainy season."
"We booked Sumeru on short notice due to a change of plan. From the beginninng the communication with Nico was very good. Bus tickets, Pick up Service from the bus ( because it is a bit outside of Sen Monorom). Nico organized it. On arrival we were warmly welcomed. On new years eve Nico and his wife made a barbecue for all guests together with the family- this was lovely. They offer breakfast and a homecooked tasty evening meal with vegetables from their garden. No need to go into town to eat! There is a pool, wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. It really looks like tuscany. There are lots of tours available in the area, but for us it was the perfect place to come down and relax. We can highly recommend Sumeru."

"The view was amazing, it was a really tranquil setting. Beautiful accommodation and the hosts were extremely helpful and friendly."
"There wasn't anything we did not like. Be aware though that 'GRAB' does not operate in the area and Sumeru is quite far out. This was not a problem as we used tuk tuks or the lovely hosts gave us a lift."

"Sumeru is a piece of paradise. The accommodation is amazing. It has a beautiful pool and the French food is incredible! Most of it is home grown. The owners are lovely. We hired a bike from them for the day and they even tracked me down to deliver shoes I had accidentally left behind. Would definitely visit again."

"The situation of this hotel is stunning, with beautiful wide-ranging views out over rolling countryside. It’s found at the end of the lovely traditional Putang village, and we thought it is a far more pleasant place to stay than in town. The couple who run it were very friendly and welcoming and they cooked delicious, simple and small, but tasty meals. The home-made jams at breakfast with home-baked bread were lovely. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the shower powerful and hot. I thoroughly recommend it."

"From check-in to checkout it was the absolute best. The staff and owners are very attentive to your needs. They go out of their way to make your stay an enjoyable time. The home cooked food, bread and jams were AMAZING!! We enjoyed a Christmas eve dinner and a Christmas day BBQ with all the guests including a bonfire with s'mores, it was lovely and the highlight of our trip."

"Perfect if you want real privacy. They say the mattress is hard, but I like it. You have to keep in mind that it depends on each person; they have their own tastes and needs. The owner is friendly and direct. Do you want the place to be central? But the owners are fake."

"Important Note! The Phnom Penh airport changed locations in October last year, so this is now about 40 min - 1 hr away from the airport. This is such a wonderful hostel run by truly wonderful people. I was very comfortable in my private room, the bed was so cozy and there was a TV, air conditioning, a mini fridge, small toiletries and a clothing rack. There is so much love and care put into this place and I truly felt like the owners cared about me having a good experience. They even made sure I woke up on time in the morning for my flight! I would stay again if I came back. It's not right in the middle of the city center, but the hospitality makes it so worth it."
