"Amazing friendly hosts - thank you so much Tip and Mike for a wonderful stay. We loved our little cabin by the river so much we extended our stay an extra night, wish it could've been for another week! Peaceful location but within cycling distance to all the island's cafes and restaurants as well as the Li Phi waterfalls. Basic facilities but we didn't need anymore and it was great to have a more authentic and relaxing stay with a lot of time spent swaying in the hammock and enjoying the beauty of nature. Amazing spot to watch the sunrise every morning from the hammock and do a bit of yoga on the patio 🥰"

"On arrival at the ferry port at Don Det it is a bit of a walk to South Don Det, about 45 mins. When I did it it was a beautiful afternoon and a lovely slow walk - but you might want to hire a bike near the ferry port. That said the owner sorted me out with a bike at the guesthouse so all was good, but you need one to get around. The food is good but the menu is limited."
"The room was great - big and comfortable and private bathroom. Nicer veranda to sit and watch the sunrise over the river. Can swim in the river there too. Just a short cycle into Don Det centre and Don Khone"

"Note: This is my second (glowing) review for Mabuhay Guest House. As I was waiting for my visa process to complete at the nearby embassy, I kept extending my stay with Ms. Sara. The price, location, and overall value are what initially caught my attention. But what makes staying at Mabuhay really great is the host! Ms. Sara is one of the nicest/most genuine people I've ever met. During my stay, she was able to help me solve numerous travel-related issues. She definitely didn't need to help me, but that's just the type of person she is... And while I'm not particularly social when I travel, it wasn't long before I was hanging out downstairs with Ms Sara and the other guests, with a cold beverage, talking about a wide range of topics. I really hope the best for Ms Sara's business and family. And I genuinely appreciate the hospitality."
"This was an interesting hostel to stay at in a private room that was quiet (thanks to some soundproofing), and my room was cool with a loft bed over an area with a nice desk (I work remotely) and ample closet space. Great location just minutes from the night market and other sights. I spent most of my time here just walking around and exploring the city. Nice breakfast!"
