"Beautiful room in the heart of the mountain. The host is such a pleasant and helpful man. He made sure that our stay was as comfortable as possible. Our train to Kandy was cancelled due to a land slide. The host informed us about it and called the train station multiple times to confirm that the train will for sure not run. He then proceeded to arrange transportation for us and informed the driver about all our wishes along the way up to Kandy. Thank you very much for the hospitality!"

"If you have large suitcases it is a challenge getting these up as the car can only go part of the way and there are steps up to the property. Make sure you contact the property before you arrive."

"Green Lantern has a really good location tucked in nature and in town of Ella. Breakfast is amazing, I am able to go back in a healthy options such fruits and home made foods. The owner is very approachable, and helpful in arranging my trips (tea plantations, lankan cooking class just his neighbor and the elephant national park and bus schedules.)"

"Communal water station would be ideal to have in the future. This is to limit water containers consumption that the guests are buying from groceries, as part of sustainable tourism."

"Our stay at Tropical Trails by Wijaya House in Unawatuna was wonderful. Everything felt very family-like and welcoming. This was the last hotel of our Sri Lanka trip, and we happened to be there when our travel plans became uncertain due to the unstable situation in the Middle East. The calm atmosphere of the place and the kindness and care from the staff made our stay truly special. The homemade breakfast every morning was absolutely delicious and made with so much love. PS: We were happy to be the very first guests of the hotel — something that has never happened to us before!"

"Wonderful accomadations at a great location. If you're looking for a Sri Lankan surf trip you can't beat this place. Conveniently located right across the road from Plantations and Coconut surf breaks. Rams is right down the road. Many good restaurants and shops right in the vicinity. The owner Sampath is a very trustworthy guy and will do everything in his power to make you feel comfortable and safe. The rest of the staff are awesome. Already looking forward to returning next year. Highly recommend!!"

"Unfortunately I was only here for one night. I received a very warm welcome and the room was very clean and comfortable. The balcony was also ideal. In the room there was a water surface, cups and cutlery and there was a fridge in the corridor. I would very much like to stay here again."

"We stayed here during Christmas and had a really wonderful experience. The accommodation itself is beautiful, with an incredible view overlooking the waterfalls — waking up to that scenery was honestly one of the highlights of our stay. The location is actually excellent. Although it may look far from the center on Google Maps, most people walk along the train tracks, which makes it only about a 5–10 minute walk into town. It’s also perfectly positioned if you’re planning to hike Ella Rock, as it’s directly on the route. The family running the place are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, which made us feel at home right away. The overall atmosphere is very calm and relaxing — ideal if you want somewhere peaceful but still close to everything. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it."
