"The surroundings were lovely and so was the layout of the property itself. The staff was friendly."

"It seems rather badly maintained and unfinished and is very basic. In a 5 star hotel I expect some useful amenities and not just a bottle of shampoo and shower gel placed on the floor in the shower. There were gecko droppings on the mosquito net above the bed. The floor needed sweeping…etc. The room was very dark and needs more lights. No TV. There were bird droppings on the sun beds near the pool. With better care and some adjustments it would be a lovely place to stay at."

"Location was too remote, the villa’s had only 2 bathrooms for a 4 bedroom, too rustic so many bugs and ants - infact my son had a horrid allergy to the bites and we couldn’t find a medical place nearby due to remoteness. Service was slow. Light was poor so at night one could barely find the location or rooms."

"The location of the hotel was not ideal with no easy access to local transport. Fornatunately, we had a driver for entire stay otherwise would have been difficult without use of prearranged transport."

"The hotel is set on beautiful green grounds with peacocks, kingfishers, squirrels, and other animals running about. The staff was amazing, the food was really yummy, and the long swimming pool was great to swim a few laps in. I would be very happy to visit this hotel again."

"In my room the shower was in the main bedroom area and not inside the bathroom, some people might find this awkward."

"Even though the package with breakfast was been picked, we were told to select one from the menu and was not a buffet. It’s a family room that was selected, but there was no privacy to the washroom. Looked like a room for a couple that was extended. No TV. Couldn’t find any staff at the place after 6pm. There was a group at the hotel and was very loud. Staff should make sure as other guests also resides in the place to respect that as well. Complimentary tea was the sachet packets kept in the room, which is very basic for any hotel"

"Our stay at Wirdana Resort was simply amazing. The villa we stayed at was perfect with plenty of space and all the amenities we needed. The service from all the staff was wonderful. Lahiru and the rest of the team was just so friendly and kind and made our stay very enjoyable and comfortable. Loved that they are also pet friendly. In house dining was also delicious! Away from the hustle and bustle of the busy town of Galle, the entire property is so peaceful, beautiful, well maintained and the perfect place for a nice and relaxing holiday. Highly recommended. Will definitely come back."
