"We had the big apt on the first floor, it had everything we needed for our 4 night’s stay. The owner brought us a bbq when we requested this. The bed was great, enough water power in the shower and the wifi worked very good. Across the road a stand sold fruit. The location was great for excursions to Chamarel, the Black river Gorge and le Morne(we had a car). The acc had on site parking. The nearest beach (public) was at le Morne, about 7 min drive) there you also had a very good restaurant called Wapalapam. Most of the beaches of le Morne are part of resorts, when we visited we couldn’t eat in the restaurants at the resorts. On the public beach there is a restaurant called Emba Filao (lunch only when we were there)that had sun beds for rent. La Gaulette has a supermarket and atm, above the supermarket Restaurant Enso."

"Ben and his wife are great hosts. Very helpful. The apartment is fairly modern and very clean. A cleaning lady visited every two days. We took a whale watching boat trip with Ben. Saw a humpback and a sperm whale. A memorable experience."

"The place is very welcoming and comfortable. Very well equipped kitchen (stove with oven, toaster, coffee machine..). The bed is big, with nicely hard mattress. We had direct access to the pool from our big terrace with a possibility to lock the access which was very handy as we have a toddler. Very good location to do the trips around south of the island."

"Vey spacious, well maintained and well appointed one bedroom apartment with full kitchen, two large balconies with outdoor furniture overlooking great pool, large comfortable bathroom. Need a car to get around and drive 5/10 minutes to large supermarket and restaurants. Le monde has gorgeous beaches about 10 minutes south as well as La Praire beach for seaplane tours which are very popular and need to be prebooked. Fruit stall across road."

"Located on main road north and south with local buses and can be a little noisy, however, double glazing and double doors make it very quiet. Note no beach in La Gaulette."

"Very attentive and helpful host! Tips of where to go for the best snorkelling. When to hike up Le Morne. Excellent facilities. Great location to visit local sites. Everything available to make our stay enjoyable. High standard of fittings & decor. Instantly felt relaxed & comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longer!!"

"Apartment was spacious and well equipped. Big living room/kitchen Decent size bathroom and bedroom. Separate dressing room for hanging clothes was really useful. Private terrace accessed from both living room and bedroom. had a table/chairs sun lounger etc Pool is shared but there are only about 4 or 5 apartments so you often have it to yourself. Parking available on the premises inside a sliding gate."

"The location was great for us but is a short walk along a busy road to the village centre. Not what everyone would chose. The sea is very near but mostly rocky and built up with houses. So the beaches are a 3 or 4 km drive. We had a hire car so great for us but might not suit everyone unless h they use taxis."

"Everything was really good from the start and through out 5 nights. Apartment is really beautiful and very good size. Super clean and comfortable. The owner was there to meet us and really helpful with any questions we had. Highly recommended 👌"
