"The location was perfect (a bit tricky to find the first time though). Just across the road from Thamel, so quiet, but close to everything. The staff were super friendly and Saput (the owner) was so kind, patient and helpful. I arrived with no plans and he sat with me with a map to help me organise my time in Nepal. As an older solo traveller, the place was safe, calm, and very chill. Definitely not a party or super social hostel/hotel"

"Avalon House is in a great location, quiet, but a short walk to Durbar Square, the shopping area of Thamel and the bus stop. The owner is a lovely man, very welcoming and able to help with transport, guides and advice. The rooms are comfortable with good views. It was excellent value."

"Bhiurankot Hill Top Resort is a serene escape with stunning panoramic views, beautiful gardens, and a refreshing pool. My room was clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned, with free WiFi. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the restaurant offered delicious Local Nepali food like Sukuti, Local Chiken and gundruk. Pet-friendly, great bar with hill views, and excellent value. Perfect for relaxation away from the crowds. Highly recommended."
