"I can’t recommend Shekhar’s Shared Home enough. Shekhar, the owner, goes above and beyond to ensure you have a full experience of Bhaktapur. He personally guides his guests, free of charge, through the winding alleys of the historic city, revealing the hidden gems of the area and introducing them to local delicacies. His guesthouse also has a welcoming atmosphere that truly feels like home. In the evenings, the living room transforms into a gathering spot where travelers from all over connect and share stories. If you’re traveling alone or want to experience Bhaktapur from a local’s perspective, Shekhar’s Shared Home is the perfect place."

"It is a beautiful old building in the center, my room was very 'vintage', there was a good, equipped kitchen but most of all the atmosphere was wonderful. The owner was nice and super-friendly and I had a great time there"

"Shekhar and his place were fantastic. Though my room was on the small side it was perfect for my needs. It was clean and comfortable and I was made to feel at home. I stayed for about a week and was welcomed into Shekhar's world, including the local music scene and seeing a different, more vibrant, side to Bhaktapur than I had experienced during a previous 2 day visit. Shekhar rented me a mountain bike at a very reasonable price and went out of his way to make me feel comfortable."
