"The view was stellar...worth atleast a 30pt drop in blood pressure. Extra personal touches with freshly made chocolates, duck eggs, fresh cream and freshly made jelly from their garden. Kind and attentive hosts. Sought to help us enjoy local insider highlights. Lovely garden with beautiful flowers and walking paths. The serenading by the birds was so lovely."

"We enjoyed our stay at Mumfords. It is charming, has excellent views and lovely grounds with a walkway down to the water. In addition it is properly equipped with everything we needed. We also liked Nicky and Fran a great deal. They live on the property in a separate structure that in no way intrudes on Mumfords. They brought us homemade chocolates and jam. They left in the room fresh duck eggs and walnuts. Nicky was also helpful in advising us where to go and things to do in Akaroa and on the Banks Peninsula. And upon leaving, Fran gave us a bookmark that she had made. My wife adored the huge flowered gardens."

"Private, lovingly maintained guest cottage a short distance from owner’s home. Idyllic flower filled gardens set above private walk to the bay. Cottage stocked with all amenities and owners made us feel most welcome with home made treats. Large outdoor soaking tub very relaxing to gaze over the bay or star watching. A short drive to quaint town with delicious French bakery and many cafes. Owner has lived here for 40 years and shared points of interest for sightseeing. Quite possibly our best rental ever."

"We appreciated this very cute little cottage. Obviously a labor of love for the owners who have tried to maintain the nostalgic history of the home. We found it to be quite comfortable overall and convenient to walk to restaurants etc down the esplanade. We had a small issue with a smoke detector battery and the owner quickly responded to resolve the problem. We really appreciated the welcome gift of wine and cheese. Very thoughtful after a long drive. Wonderful little courtyard and access to laundry. Very well equipped overall for cooking in."
