"A big thank you to Rochelle and her team, especially Ariel for their hospitality! This was a great base for us to discover Suriname - we also went with their recommended place in the Amazon. It is a bit run down (a little renovation here and there could really help), but we felt comfortable overall, especially with the hotel’s team. Wi-Fi was great, their laundry service was great and at a good price too, and it’s got a good location. Easily recommended to other travelers :)"

"On this trip of 3 countries and 6 accommodations, Hotel Palacio was by far the best! Great ambience, central location, well maintained, such friendly and helpful staff, clean, great WiFi, aesthetically pleasing common areas and room, comfortable bed, delightful shower! I had to double-check my reservation, because I couldn't believe such great value for so little money. I was bummed I had only one night there. Any time I come back to Paramaribo, this is where I'm going to stay."

"The food was great. We asked about going to a local restaurant for Roti, and the young chef on premises cooked it for us. It was amazing. Very quiet at night, very comfortable bed. A nice patio with table, chairs & hammock. We had a great hike in the forest with Pieter, the owner. He checked on all of his guests every day. We were able to hike the trails at will even at night. The area had lots of birds & monkeys, and my favorite, lizards! A full, hearty breakfast every morning. The staff was friendly and helpful, but also quiet and respectful when the guests were resting. Super-hot out but the ac was excellent and a nice pool for cooling off. I strongly recommend Hotel de Plantage for people who love nature but may want to stay closer to the city for ease of travel."
