"The common area always had other travelers to meet and the staff was nice. The breakfast was simple but satisfying. The location is just a short walk to the main tourist sites of the city."

"The beds were quite uncomfortable. Mosquito nets full of holes. Understandably the building and windows are old but need to have appendages added to be able to prop them open because there is no airflow and pretty stuffy and smelly rooms."

"Location is slightly out of the center so it’s quiet and with the creek beside it, it’s quite peaceful with lots of birds. Especially if you get the room with the balcony, you can sit there and enjoy. The workers are very nice and helpful."

"Could get more fans or something for the living area. Usually used by people blasting air to themselves to avoid mosquitoes. Seems like there’s a lot of mosquitos, maybe spray the property?"

"First off, the staff are so great! The two women who work the reception area are fantastic. Very on the ball and attentive. The hostel is in a great location as well."

"I stayed in room number six and it was a great room with very good AC, but that mattress really needs to be replaced. Either replaced or put some kind of a topper on it because you can feel the coils."

"Well located in the center of Paramaribo, walkable distance to many attractions and restaurants. Staff very friendly and accomodating, they helped us with many queries including when we had an issue with our initial booking. The Brownsberg tour that we booked from the front desk was excellent. Nice leisure common areas to relax in."

"The only hostel in all of the Guianas, they didn't have to do much to meet the bar, but they do meet it, and exceed it! The layout is spacious and promotes social interactions. The hostel is a short walk from everything. They had fans everywhere to help combat the heat. I was in a private at first, and the bed was super comfortable and had AC and a mosquito net. I extended and switched to a dorm and having neither AC nor a mosquito net didn't prove to be a problem."

"Friendly staff that were always able to assist me with bookings, taxis, etc. The room (private room with private bathroom and AC) was good value when comparing with other accommodation in the city."

"The entire country has difficulties with Visa and anything outside of Mastercard! There are specific locations that take Visa and other cards for money dispense ONLY and the bank has to have enough money to take out (end of month and holidays are harder times because majority of money is taken out) The republic bank is a 7 minute walk from the hostel and takes Visa but sometimes they run out of money! Cashpnt near the casino takes Visa but the international fees are higher! Just FYI - at the airport PBM it’s only cashpnt and it was out of money so bring a good amount of cash"

"Pretty convenient location - you can walk to most of the sights in 10-15 minutes. Not recommended to be outside after dark though. A couple restaurants on the corner. Very hot, but they have fans in the rooms and one near the hostel entrance/front desk."
