"The owner João is a fantastic host. Always present and helpful when needed. The hotel is very peaceful with a beautiful vue over the ocean from most of the rooms which are simple but comfortable, excellent bedding. Silent and efficient fan. The restaurant is good too. The chef prepares fresh dishes everyday and is super nice too."

"Not a big deal but we had once or twice issues with the water supply in the bathroom. It didn’t last long though and Joao was quick to intervene."

"Beautiful cabins, AMAZING chef and food, lovely view and cozy stay. They also were really kind in giving us the cabin we requested, and very helpful with giving us recommendations, and doing things like getting us breakfast to-go really early on days we were heading out early!"

"We wouldn't come back due to the dogs. There are at least 6 it seemed. They barked loudly all night long, waking us up many times throughout the night, every night, which led to bad sleeps our entire stay. They also really negatively impacted our meals, two that were always allowed at meals were really pushy begging for food, every single meal they jump at the table and push their faces into your crotch and legs and literally won't leave the guests alone. At one time one jumped up and scratched my face, and another time one bit my partner's hand. Of course no fault of the dogs (I felt bad for them) - it seems like either training is needed, or changes to how they are managed, given that it is a publicly bookable accommodation property, not a private personal property (ex. not having the dogs roam the property all night/early morning so as to wake everyone up; not having the dogs allowed in the eating area during meals). Sadly, overall this aspect was enough to really negatively impact our stay here (if not for the dogs, it would have been the perfect place for our time on ST!). We are sharing this as we would have adjusted our choice if we had read a review like this before, and feel like it is only fair to future guests, especially people who are not highly comfy with dogs, or are light sleepers. With some adjustments to this specific issue, this place could really be amazing - as it was so lovely in other ways!"

"Everything about Sonho Non was amazing! I was travelling on my own and the property felt incredibly safe and welcoming. The owners Elena and João were very hospitable and ensured I had a great stay were also super helpful if you had any questions or needed advice. The food was the best I had in São Tomé super fresh and a nice mix of local produce and flavours with Portuguese cuisine. The rooms/lodges are incredible spacious with incredible views over the water and a very comfy bed. The property is particularly quiet (dogs on property do bark however this did not bother me at all they are particularly friendly). This was my favourite place I stayed on the island will certainly be returning. 10/10 recommend if visiting São Tomé could have easily spent longer here"

"Without car you need to get public transport to reach the next beach. The closest beach is just 20-25 minutes by foot, but not really to recommend."

"I stayed at five different properties/hotels during my 2 week stay in Sao Tome and Principe and I'm glad that Sonho Non was the first place. Really wonderful location overlooking the sea, a great introduction to the island. Really enjoyed my cabin, very simple yet comfortable and had everything I needed: a good shower, comfortable bed, mosquito net, and plenty of space to relax. Joao was a fantastic host, always willing to answer questions and talk about the island. The meals were also excellent, some of the best meals I had in Sao Tome (better than most hotels!) were served here, so make sure you enjoy dinner here. The chef also prepares a delicious breakfast each morning. I am so glad I stayed in a place like this rather than being holed up in some fancy resort at 4x the price. A really nice way to experience the island, especially if you have your own car so you can come and go as you please to explore."

"I didn't mind them, but there are a few dogs here that can bark quite a lot at night or be quite animated during meal times. This might inconvenience a few people, but personally I didn't mind and appreciated the 'security' that they provide for the place. They are well behaved and looked after."

"Our stay at Sohno Non was wonderful. Joao was extremely helpful and went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed during our stay and afterwards. The food provided was to a very high standard and we were provided with complementary bottled water daily. The accommodation was comfortable, spacious and clean."

"If you don't like dogs, I would not recommend staying here as there were lots of dogs around most of the time and they could be quite noisy during meal times."
