"The owners were incredibly helpful and welcoming. Comfortable beds. Very clean. Shower had nice pressure and temperature. Kitchen was adequately stocked. Purified water on tap was great. Rooftop hangout was comfortable with a great view of the volcanoes."

"Like other reviews for Mixtepek the rooms are clean and what you would expect for a hostel. What makes this hostal standout is the hands on approach of the owners Ovi and Daysi. They will help you with any tours, rentals or travel plans. Alonso is always around to assist with any questions you may have if Ovi is not there. In our case, we were injured in an accident and Ovi and Daysi came and picked us up when we were released from the hospital. Not only that, there were no other taxis available, so he drove us to our next destination in Nahuizalco. They are truly amazing people, we are so grateful for their kindness and generosity.."

"Stayed in both the private bath and shared, book the shared the private room has quite loud road noise. Staff here are so lovely and helpful. Kitchen and bathroom kept so clean and the rooms were so cosy and comfortable. The view from the terrace is gorgeous. You can cook good meals here. Felt like a new modern property rather than other dingy stays in the area."

"The property sits high in a mountain with great views of the ocean and mountains. Spacious main house with full kitchen refrigerator and two bedrooms with a/c. We loved the option of ordering food from a nearby restaurant that will deliver breakfast lunch and dinner with menu provided at the property. The swimming pool was very refreshing and maintained heated at night. There were plenty of hammocks under the large gazebo to enjoy relaxation with an amazing breeze and listening to the waves nearby. Friendly helpful staff."
