"I had the most wonderful time at Compass Diving Resort! By the end of my short 2 night trip, the dive instructors, Popay and Patrik, felt like family. They made me feel so welcome, safe, and entertained! My villa was lovely, with a large bathroom and air conditioning. I have also never been so well fed, with three square meals a day with lots of variety. My transportation to and from Atauro was organized and smooth. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I was sad to leave!"

"Great staff and location. The villas are fantastic. As far as I understand it, they are the only accommodation with a private toilet on the whole island. The beds are comfy and having the toilet and shower facilities outside keeping the living area smaller and so easier to keep air conditioned. The outdoor shower area and bathtub in villa 2 are excellent. And the look of the villa is earthy and tranquil. Loved the hammock."

"The pillows were too high for everyone in our family. Offering a smaller one would have been great. The food was ok. It always seemed short on protein. The floor of the communal area seems like it may collapse at any time. There are rats.... I'm glad they aren't controlling them with cats (would be bad for the bird population), and also glad they aren't using poisons.... I don't know what would work, and it might be a losing battle.... Maybe traps? The diving is incredible. The gear is good and the dive master (Dircia) /instructor (Carmen) were great."

"No complaints from us. Be aware there isn’t much to do on the island, for us that didn’t bother us as we were diving everyday and had a nap every afternoon, I recommend you take a book for the afternoons to enjoy on your hammock and relax with the sunset"

"This is a special place. The people who run the place and work there are part of what makes it so special. We paid a bit extra to have the full board option which is actually important as there is not alot of choice in Beloi and the food was varied, with snacks in between and we all ate together which made it so friendly. You don’t have to dive or snorkel but if you do, we highly recommend the team here- it is very well organised, the bus and boat drivers were great and the dive leaders took us to some amazing places. A special thanks to Kib, who took us on all our dives, he showed us lots of critters we would not have seen and was great company in and out of the water."

"Il s'agit d'un hôtel spécialisé dans le snorkeling et la plongée. Les installations sont assez basiques, les bungalows disposent toutefois de douches et de toilettes. Il ne faut pas s'attendre à une belle plage bordée de cocotiers et d'un hôtel luxueux tel que l'on peut en trouver pour ce prix généralement dans d'autres pays du sud-est. La nourriture, saine, n'est pas très abondante. ll est possible de faire du snorkeling à partir de la plage, notamment lorsque la mer n'est pas trop agitée. Le personnel, très sympathique, est en grande partie constitué de jeunes moniteurs/monitrices de plongée expatriés et passionnés qui vous facilitent l'identification des poissons de coraux. Les sorties de snorkeling sont bien organisées et d'un coût raisonnable. La biodiversité sous-marine est tout-à-fait remarquable tant pour les coraux que pour les poissons."
