Boats in Belize

"What can you say? You are living on a catamaran anchored in the bay. The views were epic and put the over the water bungalows to shame. You are actually in the water. We swam from the back of the boat and laid out on the bow. Just lying around and soaking in the views was a joy."

It is spartan without AC and the shower was outside (a plus for adventurous folk). We loved talking to Bernard (the host), but privacy is difficult on a boat. Also, the boat moves so if you don’t like boats, not a good choice.

"I have just spent the most amazing 3 nights on the Grand Swan, one of 3 beautiful 5 Star Houseboats in this small group, located in a great position on Lake Dal. The rooms are very well presented and very comfortable. The food is freshly prepared and very tasty. The chef made sure the food was to my liking, and there was plenty of it, The staff went above and beyond to make sure i got the most out of my short stay. Mr Ahmed the manager arranged some trips for me including a not to be missed tour of the lake. A special thanks to Mr Shabam, who did everything from bringing me coffee in the morning to accompanying me on a magical trip to the mountains, where his local knowledge and friends made this a trip I will never forget and got to meet the local people. I can highly recommend staying here whether you are travelling by yourself, with friends or with family. I am already planning my return"

The sleeping accommodation in the small boat was a bit cramped and in hot weather not very comfortable.

"Excellent service for crew members, they made everything in their hands to make us comfortable."

May crew members could explain to other people when it is appropriate or not to throw paper in bad room and which is the system of the boat.

"Our stay on the Yathra Houseboat will always stay in our minds and hearts. This is our second time within 3 years. We had a vacation of our life with all the comfort and pampering by the staff on the boat. The cruise on the river provided rare glimpse of few exotic birds and a large group of monkeys. The narrations by the Manager of the Dedduwa Boat House about those birds were very informative. The Skipper was kind enough to stop along the river bank to watch the birds closely and take photographs. The candle-lit dinner and the night spend on the upper deck was simply magical. The next day my husband even managed catch some fish while cruising. The staff arranged them to be prepared for our lunch and that dish was out of this world. The staff went an extra mile to make us happy. The bedrooms and the facilities on board were above standard. This is the best destination we spend while in Sri Lanka. Keep it up Yathra and we will back again next year."

This is a new concept. A few teething issues to sort. Breakfast took a long time. They should also make you aware in advance about cruise timings as it means the boat is unaccessible. This is OK providing your planning an evening out somewhere anyway. Evening cruise from 8pm to 11pm in our case

The internet was sometimes weak but I guess this is a problem overall in Yangon

Actually the only thing is No about the facility but about the distance from city No Taxi.. Almost one hour far from city... Unfortunately I didn't know that if I did I would Rent a car... But is was experienc to use the fare and the Train from the Hotel..

"The Sailboat Ragamuffin is a unique experience. You are staying in a sailboat moored off of Water Island, where your hosts live after sailing the Caribbean for 30 years. They are a font of information and anecdotes about the US virgin islands and others. Jo is an accomplished chef and strives to give you the food types you desire. They pick you up by dinghy on the Crown Marina dock, and will take you by dinghy over to Water Island. In my case, I had two berths (bedrooms and bathrooms) on the boat, rocked to sleep by the rolling of the boat on the water. Don't miss going to water island, golf cart to Limestone Beach (coral reef) and Honeymoon Beach (the latter has turtles swimming around)"

The listing didn't make it quite clear what the accommodation would be - it described an apartment and a pool view. I thought it might be a houseboat on a dock. The pool view is the sea around the boat!
