Boats in Saint-Martin

"Very handy location. Boat well appointed with everything you could need: toilet, small shower, galley with all facilities (except a wooden spoon!). Bed comfortable with cosy bedding. Lounge and dining areas separate with a good amount of room, for two at least."

Being a bit inexperienced at staying on boats it took us a while to fine tune the way we used things but hey, life’s a learning experience. Hot water did run out but easily overcome and, with a bit of communication, eventually fixed up. It’s a boat, not a 5 star Hilton; these things happen.

"Ideal overnight stop over for cycling in Flanders. Bart is a great host and the bar had many interesting beers. Breakfast in the morning was excellent."

The sleeping accommodation in the small boat was a bit cramped and in hot weather not very comfortable.

Storage was our only real challenge, as fitting luggage for five proved tricky — though we admittedly didn’t pack light. The kitchen was well equipped with everything needed for light cooking, and the water pressure in the shower was excellent. Hot water was plentiful but limited in duration, so shorter showers worked best. Overall, it was a delightful and memorable experience — a unique stay that combined comfort with a touch of adventure."

"A different place to stay. A wood cabin but with all facilities such as fridge, single ring cooker, air conditioning, huge varanda with room for a dining table and chairs plus recliner chairs and a washing rack. Wonderful views of the Duero river. Pick up the train (one kilometre walk away) to Pinhao - 30 minute journey along the edge of the river-for food shopping and long, lazy lunches or to Porto for a day out. Rail fares in Portugal are very cheap and half price if over 65!"

"Amazing couple Paul and Daniela touring us around for three days with incredibly nice food from both , lots of stories and a unique itinerary to also see the non tourist areas! We met local kunas , snorkeled , swam and went to the nicest bar on one of the islands"
