"Strongly, strongly recommend staying on Elephantine Island. The cheap ferry takes you a world away — it's much more peaceful than in the city. Nubian Paradise is at a good location on the island, too. Very nice cheap grocery store behind it, restaurants nearby, and easy to get to from the ferry. Zolly is an amazing, gracious host. He made my stay much better and easier."

"The shared bathroom might be a bit rustic to some people's taste, and the shower water pressure is not great."

"Breakfast was excellent. The location was perfect, really close to the ferry, restaurants, and the ruins on Elephantine island, making it easy to walk around the Nubian village. The staff were excellent, really helpful and the place was kept really clean. There was a private beach area at the front, right on the Nile, for relaxing. Would definitely go back again and can thoroughly recommend."
