"Location is very convenient. I guess it could be noisy sometimes with the restaurant downstairs but it wasn’t an issue for us. Loved our room and restaurant downstairs, staff are lovely."

"It was in a very good location, both to walk to and from the ferry, and also to explore the city. The building is historic and nice. The cafe and breakfast were excellent. Music in the evening at the cafe was wonderful. The rooms themselves could use a little updating. They were comfortable enough, but a little bare. We enjoyed the rooftop terrace."

"This is without doubt the best location in Mindelo. It is the center of the action and close to everything you might to do. The Cafe is one of the best, and most popular, in town and the servers and workers are friendly and helpful. The food from breakfast through lunch and dinner is very good."

"It isn't that these things were an issue for me/us, but guests should be aware of two things:: 1) there are very steep staircases in the Guesthouse. One to the first floor where the reception and 4 or the 8 rooms are, and another staircase to the top 4 rooms and the sun deck. If stairs are an issue for you, you should be aware. 2) Noise. Personally, I like the music and street sounds and slept with the windows open. However, if you need quiet, even closing the windows and blinds will not shut out the noise from being in the most active part of town. The guesthouse provides earplugs."

"The place is really cool, in an old colonial building, centrally located. 20 mins walk to the beach and 10 mins to the ferry harbor. The restaurant downstairs is open late with live music. But then it's very quiet when you sleep. It's right on the street too so that's pretty cool. And you have a nice breakfast there in the morning. Would definitely recommend."

"Great location on a square on the waterfront. Cafe offered local live music after 8PM, which was fantastic. Rooms are basic, but good value for the cost, including a sufficient breakfast. <10 minute walk to ferry. ~5 minute walk to other nice restaurants in Mindelo."

"The location is great, in the city center, close to everything. The breakfast was good. There was a fridge in the room."

"The shower is "american style", water coming down from above the head, I personally dislike it. Bathroom is quite small. Being in the center, it can be quite noisy at night when sleeping with windows open. Squeaky old floors, one can hear the people in the neighbouring room walking."

"Location is fantastic, right in the centre and overlooking the main square. Particularly interesting during carnival. Of course it was a bit loud, but it is part of the fun. Facilities quite basic, but good enough. Security seems good. Staff was nice, even if they looked a bit overworked at times."

"Reception was a bit chaotic, but probably we arrived at a time when the cafe' was busy. The cafe' is always busy, though."
