"Older property but clean. Shower had no pressure one morning. The couch in the bedroom was very uncomfortable but the bed was great. AC worked. Quite a bit of street noise with open windows. At night ok."

"Royal mindelo best known for cafe royal A historic colonial house with Antique and modern features, like remodeled bathrooms with hot water…Air conditioning works great super cold to relax after a hot day in Sao Vicente, I was provided with a big screen tv with all channels from all over the world. The owners where very accommodating and friendly they provided guidance..The staff was excellent and trustworthy., especially the ladies that clean my room and change my sheets daily. The hotel have a safe which I didn’t have to use because I felt comfortable with the staff. My my main concern when I booked was my safety being a solo traveler and 20 years since the last time that I visited the islands.The owners made sure that while I was a guest at Royal mindelo I was protected and safe.The cleanliness in this place is superb. I had breakfast every morning it was excellent and delicious the coffee was really good. Thank you so much. I will stay again ."

"The room was cozy and had a great location. The breakfast was good and a lot of food. The staff at the beginning wasn't very welcoming although throughout the stay they became really friendly and helpful!"

"We couldn't pay by card so we had to take money from the atm with a lot of extra fees. The room was "clean" but for 60€ a night you expect at least the soap dispenser working, you could tell the don't really care to maintain the rooms, everything was old and very used."

"It’s a dated property - so a bit quirky and could do with an overhaul - but £ reflects this. Breakfast was unusual - would be better as a buffet or have a menu. First time I’ve been offered jelly in a pot as part of the deal!"

"Friendly staff, we were leaving at about 6 am due to early ferry departure - I just mentioned this to find out if it is ok to check out this early. Later in the evening, without asking for anything, they brought us picked breakfast: very nice sandwich, youghurt, Apple and apple juice. Excellent service. Thank you."
