"Loved the vibe, private cabin, and delicious breakfast. Manager Tatiana was wonderful and helped us with all bookings. The hummingbirds were the highlight!"
"Not the fault of the place but Mindo in January is very humid, meaning everything is damp and nothing dries. As most places in Ecuador there is no heating or cooling in the room to help with this."
"Everything was great. It was quiet. I love it. The location, staff and beautiful scenery."

"The hostal is well located on the outskirts of Tena (so, nice and quiet at night) and the staff was really helpful and friendly. They gave us great recommendations for daily excursions and were really accommodating allowing us to store some food in their refrigerator and do some light cooking."

"The owners are very kind and helpful. There are two guys who are river guides and speak English, super nice as well. Really awesome building. Good water, good WiFi, comfy beds. Beautiful property. Felt very safe. Incredibly clean. Free drinking water. Breakfast was good. Let me store some things in the fridge. Really beautiful sunsets from just outside the property."
"You have to walk up 2 hills to get to the property from downtown (20 mins) or take a taxi for ~$1.50. Toilets don’t use water to conserve, fine for me. Kitchen is for staff only."
"We had a wonderful time, great value. A beautiful gem with a jungle-like garden and tranquil ambiance. Very friendly, helpful and personable hosts. Full breakfast. Comfy room/bed."

"Está a unas cuadras del parque bicentenario y de la estación del metro "labrador" se puede llegar con facilidad al hostal. El personal es muy atento con el huésped, la habitación estaba super limpia y en muy buenas condiciones. Si regresaría a hospedarme en Alua Rio"

"Security was strong, which made me feel that the neighborhood maybe a problem. During the day, the neighborhood is busy, but clears out totally at night. The hotel itself was clean and of good value. The staff was helpful."
Avis de Scott Hotel Paris
"Everything! I loved, loved and loved the decor! Everything is thought of. Beautiful rooms, comfortable beds, nice bathrooms. There’s a beautiful roof top with views of the mountains, near the old town. Communication was great, loved the staff and the dog! They offer free tea and fruits and their restaurant has good local options. There’s also a heater if needed. I only stayed here one night but would have loved to stay more!"
Avis de Jessyka Chakana Hotel Boutique Centro
"The staff were all really friendly, very nice people. The kitchen has everything you might need, and is always clean. Laundry service is available. The bathrooms are clean, hot water always available. The location of the hostel is great, it is just one street away from the main part of town, so you don't get a lot of traffic and it's a quieter area. The hostel appears to have two parts, an older section and a newer section. The newer section looks really nice. The older section is all made of wood, that's where we stayed because we were trying to be cheap. But still our room was comfortable. There is a nice area with hammocks and tables. We heard that Mindo gets busy mostly on the weekends, and we were there during the week, so it was really quiet and at times we were the only people there. Also, the staff was really helpful, gave us tips on local buses etc."
