"Chris and Saba's home is lovely, we were so comfortable during our brief stay. Chris's garden is beautiful respite from the bustle of Mekele, and both he and Saba were a wealth of knowledge for trip planning. The local honey and fresh guava smoothie at breakfast were an extra treat."

"This is a very nice apartment. It is clean, spacious with onsite parking. It is next to the hill for hiking. The owner Jamal is very friendly with good communication. The simple breakfast was included. Highly recommended."

Shady pricing for airport transfers: I was offered a ride from the airport for K70, my friend (she didn't stay there but was inquiring about their rooms) got an offer for K50 for the same transfer, I was offered a ride to the airport for K50. A bit further away from town (20-25 min walk). "Loud" bed.

"This is the best place where you can stay! It's clean and comfortable and maybe not in the very center town but you meet a very nice , friendly and lovely family. In Italy we say "you find a friend, you find a treasure", this is what you're going to live."

"Well kept clean house. The owner tried really hard to reach Western standard of living (limited by being in the Solomons of course). Solar hot water, large fridge/freezer of 300L plus. 24 hour electricity. No aircon but the house is extremely well ventilated. Open plan big kitchen, 4 burner gas hob, huge lounge with modern couches. 2 rooms + 1 bathroom on each side of the lounge, so totally 4 rooms and 2 bathrooms. Rooms are spacious, clean. Hot water shower! I wish I could share photos but booking.com doesn't have upload button."

1. The cost is per person, not per room, but somehow not clearly displayed on booking.com. 2. This is an isolated house on the water edge, private and peaceful, but 40min walking through muddy path to get to seghe town/Airport although a boat transfer is only 5min. You need to bring all your food in and cook during your stay. 3. You need to enquire about the boat transfer cost, to be clear what trips are included, and what are not, otherwise you will have surprise bill in the end. 4. The water pump stopped during my 2 showers, someone needed to run downstairs to restart the pump so I could finish my showers. 5. There is no mirror in the entire house, and no towel rails in either bathroom. Maybe the owner can install them?

"It was a perfect location in a nice and a quiet area. The room was very cozy, comfortable, and very clean. The AC and the hot water were exceptionally good. Jamal, the host, is very welcoming and friendly. I recommend this property without any reservations. Thank you!"

The location isn’t the best, but far from restaurants and center (30mins walk max, it’s ok during winter but won’t be so enjoyable during summer)
