"It is a very steep uphill walk to some bungalows and to breakfast. The main bedrooms have beautiful full pane glass windows to see the forest but they don’t have blinds so it can be tough to sleep"

"The view was amazing with the wall of glass windows overlooking the shear drop-off of the valley. While no one spoke any English, we all got by with the help of translator apps. Food was good. Everything clean and bed was very comfortable. Nice to have the hummingbird and fruit feeders there, but I would not say it's a "birding" lodge compared to other locations. Within (long) walking distance to town which is nice. Very quiet with little traffic on the road except on weekends. Birding along the road is completely doable when we were there."

"It got rather hot in the room when the sun came in the afternoon because of all the glass windows - no good way to cool it down. Windows didn't all work well. Would have liked a coffee maker in the room. The couch was completely worn out and should be replaced. Wifi network had a lot of options, but we never found one that worked well from our room - but there likely is one if it's a priority. As with every place we stayed in Ecuador, the bathroom could use more lighting, shelf-space, and clothes hooks."

"We stayed here the final days of Sept 2025 Wow, if you love the idea of seeing birds, butterflies lush green forest, bright colored flowers = you want to see Mindo. The Terrabambu cabin that was given to us (#8) was awesome! Two floors, outdoor jacuzzi, plenty of windows overlooking the forest, personal gazebo= we had a great time! The grounds and pool are nicely maintained to give you that relaxing environment you will enjoy. If you love the outdoors/hiking = this is your place. Tip 1) we like to hike, after taking a taxi into/back from town twice.... we realized we could walk it no problems. It's a nice 15-20mins. Tip 2) you are in a RAIN forest.... so be ready for rain (boots) or bright sun (sunscreen). We enjoyed our stay."
