"The staff in the bar/cafe area were extremely helpful and friendly, however it was pretty obvious they were under staffed as long ques at the bar, long wait for tables to be cleared - really not fair on the staff who really were trying their best and working hard."

"Staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. On check in while we had a twin room booked, they worked out as a couple we would likely prefer a double and sorted on the spot with housekeeping. Room larger than average, as was the bed once re-made as connected beds. Air con built in and powerful, we were very comfortable overnight despite higher temps outside. Gym has small shop for missed essentials, decent selection of equipment but fairly busy. Pool and sauna very nice, with outdoor seating if weather up for it. Breakfast very good, decent selection buffet style with very good gluten free support for those with this allergy. Chef and open kitchen space if you need something specific cooked. If you are staying, make sure you do the walk to the nearby lake to take in how pretty the area you are in is. Reception has a little card with the route."

"Room next door was a smoking room, which meant they were outside smoking a lot. This meant we had to keep our door shut a bit more than we would have liked but this is not really a negative. There was a little confusion on GF options in the restaurant menu for dinner, but staff were knowledgeable and most items can be made gluten free by the chefs. Although this is usual not including things, as opposed alternatives so you miss out on gravy, etc. which is a shame. Opposite on breakfast where they did have GF alternative bread, sausages were at time of staying GF, etc. Why breakfast is on the positive side."

"The complaint is the making of the beds! This the second occasion on the trot. The first visit we had a king sized (2 single zipped together) but only had a double quilt on top and so every time either my wife or I turned over in the night we end up with more or less no quilt. Second visit we opted for single bed which are comfy if the beds are made correctly. The single quilt was put into a double quilt cover and was all screwed up inside at the bottom also the bottom none fitted sheet was too small !! And shift over the bed every time you moved in the night ! This an issue for house keeping to sort out. This is my only complaint, it might seem trivial but it leads to an uncomfortable night."
