Aristea Hotel

"- close to the beach (2nd line of buildings, so not beachfront), however you can walk easily there and also to other private beaches - good breakfast with a variety of dishes. We also enjoyed that they had pastries for dessert and some local sweets - the pool is a good add for those chill/lazy people, however, it's quite small - staff is friendly and always there to help - the coworking room was a really good help, however, watch out that it is somehow located in between wifi routers and it's catching a bad/discontinued signal - the room wifi is extremely good and reliable (especially on the lower floors)"

"- the bath towels were not immaculate as they had some minor black stains. They were washed and smelled really fresh but maybe the temp should be increased just one time in order to ensure those stains are off - we got a room at the lower floor with garden view (let's say -1) and you have 2 options: use only artificial light and have privacy as people could just see in our room OR keep the blinds open and have some sort of dark room with everyone seeing everything you do - there's a lot of noise during breakfast hours as the windows don't really isolate the noise. Might be better on the top floors - the parking gets full if they are at fully capacity and you really need to get creative. It's a bit unfortunate as in our last day we parked parallel to the sidewalk, having 3-4 cars in front of ours. In the morning we found out that the car in front just reversed in our car and hit it quite badly. Thanks to the full insurance, no excess paid at the rental company (a big must if you wish to rent a car in Crete due to the fact that a lot of drivers are just terrible and the locals have bad/old cars so they just don't care if they scratch them) - a bit overpriced (160€/night) for what they offered especially as it was outside peak season and they are reviewed on google maps as a 2star hotel"

"The outside of the hotel is very nice, nice pool although a bit small. Rooms are big , near the beach and short drive to the old town, free parking, staff at reception are very friendly and welcoming"

"The breakfast was simple but nice, high-quality ingredients. Part of the staff was nice. Poolside restaurant food was nice with good prices. The room had a small functioning kitchen, which was nice and well equipped."

"This is a small urban hotel located in a dirty looking neighborhood and street. Not beachfront as it says in booking. It doesn't have a private beach. Although it is a 2-minute walk to the beach, but you dont feel you're close to the beach from the hotel. You dont have a sea view from anywhere, There are no coomon areas for children to run around at all. There's no beach atmosphere. They don't even have an arrangement with the closest beach for having free beach beds or umbrellas. You have to pay 10-12 euros for 2 beds each time. The pool area is small, and the pool itself is dirty (non-clear water). The room was very old looking, and it had TONS of mosquitoes all over, and we couldn't sleep well. Uncomfortable beds, dead mosquitoes graves on the walls. Bathtub was dirty and rusty."

"The rooms were big and clean. There was a bad smell from the bathroom but it didn't bother too much. The pool area was nice, not so big as expected, and the pool was a bit crowded when we came. We stayed only 1 night when going from Chania to Heraklion so we didn't really use the hotel facilities."

"Although the property wasn't right on the beach, it was very close with only 1 property right in front of it which offered beach chairs for a rental fee. Also, the location was outside of the busy strip leading to Old Town while still being close to plenty of shopping, restaurants & entertainment. I would definitely recommend this spot."

"Not the best location (is at the end of the brach), but the rooms are nice, clean. The pool si nice and the staff are friendly. If you want to go to the old town you will walk 50 - 60 minutes. You can take a taxi that's 10€. Nice restaurants around. They also have some parking spots. We will totally come back here. The hotel prices are really good compared to other hotels in the area."

"It's a little far from the center, but if you like waking, it's perfect. Beach is ok, but in the water, there are rocks, so you have to be a little careful when you enter."

"The location is perfect. Not even a minute walk to the beach. Two pools and further away from the town center (reachable w a 30min walk, but lots of restaurants within a 10min walk distance), so its beautifully quiet. Beds and pillows were amazing (as a bad sleeper this is so important to me) and to wake up :the view out of the window was ever so lovely."

"Staff of the hotel was very helpful, nice and careing. Hotel breakfast were fresh, had quiet a lot options, breads, croissants, puddings, different egg options, greek traditional cuisine with cheese, olives, fresh vegetables, fruits, there was no time something was missing. You can also have lunch at the pool. The pool was clean, enough napping places, private. The place was quiet, no loud disturbance from the outside, very close to promenade, half an hour walk to the Rethimno."
