"This is a really nice and comfortable hostel. The mattresses and bedding are new and very comfy, the dorms are set up nicely, the bathrooms are large, clean, and well designed. There was a good supply of hot water in the shower. Staff cleans the dorm area every day so it’s nice and clean. There is a large, pleasant garden with a pool and lots of seating, where you can have breakfast, and a bar area with a pool table and good happy hour specials. The on-site restaurant is just okay. But it was very convenient when I was too tired to go anywhere and needed dinner. Breakfast is very good. Lots of choices and the omelet is very tasty. The staff was super helpful and very friendly. I had some issues getting a shuttle leaving Panajachel and they helped me figure out how to take my first chicken bus! Which worked out very smoothly, I got where I needed to go with zero hassle. There is an extremely cute cat in the garden."
"It’s a bit far from the lake. The bunks have outlets but not lights or curtains."

"I loved my stay at Amaranto! The staff were so friendly and the breakfast was delicious. I traveled with my two cats and the staff were very accommodating. They gave us a delicious welcome drink that was included with our stay. They also have a happy hour and bar on site which was nice on the nights we didn't want to leave the property. I would definitely stay here again. The woman working the front desk was so nice and gave us recommendations of places to eat around town. She went above and beyond. A bonus- parking was on site!"

"Great in town location. Walked to the lake and many resturants. On site food and bar was nice and convient. Hot water was plentiful but the water pressure faded in and out but still good. Free on site parking was great and secure. Bartenders where super friendly one had the sweetest little daughter Ava with her one day."
