"My entire family LOVED our stay here. Renate is an exceptional hostess. She is kind, helpful, and provides the most delicious breakfast! We enjoyed her homemade baked goods, meat and cheese options, yogurt, coffee, and so much more. My husband is an avid fly fisherman and he chose coming here for the fishing. He was not disappointed. Renate was so helpful to him & he had a wonderful time. The little village is beautiful and has a very convenient market walking distance from our apartment. We would highly recommend visiting here & we thank Renate for everything she did to help make our trip so wonderful."

"I like comunication. In apartment is really everything what I need (I cooked everyday). Everything here was clean. Big supermarket Super Food plaza is 10 minutes by walk. Eagle beach is 25 minutes by walk."

The hotel is next to the freeway, so avoid rooms close to front due to constant traffic noise.

"Amazing location! As soon as you step out of the cabaña you are literally in the red desert. Very friendly and helpful staff. Brayam (the host) was willing to help with everything and adjusted all communication and explanations to the level of basic Spanish we spoke."

A mosquito net should be added to the room. We had our own so were not bothered, but you do need one. While the host was extremely helpful, he asked for tip when dropping us in Villavieja at the end of our stay. While he is of course free to ask, we already ate twice at the hostel restaurant and booked transport to the gray desert with him. All in, we already spend quite some pesos (and still happy with that), but it just felt a bit off to then ask for even more.

It is older and a little funky but their staff is lovely and the food is good and reasonable . Always a friendly face!

"Breakfast and supper were great, and plentiful. Rum punches good. The location was great, surrounded by nature. ( occasional traffic noise). Listened to birds by day, and crickets, frogs , lizards? by night. Staff were informative and friendly. Overall , relaxing place. Need to have a car, otherwise taxi's are expensive, local bus an option, when you can get them. Get to meet other tourists there as well with the communal dining."

The mosquito nets have holes in them. (Cabin 6).

"Had an absolutely wonderful time here. A spacious room right next to Lake Taupo, with TV and a terrace - what more could one ask for? I very much recommend taking the breakfast as well - simple, but delicious."

The toilet broke during our stay - but we fixed it ourselves!

As it was late in the season, we were the only guests. Sandra was very helpful and set our breakfast out for us before she had to go out to work. The breakfast was rather unappetising with cheap sliced bread & ham, plentiful, but unappealing.

"I was worried about the shared bathroom when we booked, but it turned out to be an absolutely lovely place. Everything was very comfortable and clean, the breakfasts were delicious, and you really feel close to nature there. The hosts were also very hospitable."

I didn't receive the room what I booked. During my stay(4 days), nobody came in to clean or to take the garbage. Didn't worth the price.

Everything was to my liking.

"Worth the 4km off-road from the main road on the way to Wadi Rum (and/or as complementary day to the Wadi Rum experience). Compared to Wadi Rum, this experience was calm and authentic outside of the touristic paths. it's a beautiful spot, Jaffar and Julie cooked wonderful food and we had a good evening chat. Sukran!"

A bit warm in those small rooms, but if you leave the door open, the breeze helps a lot.

As in a lot of places the wifi sometimes doesn't work but that is not specifically for this place though. I blame Africell 😊

"The place was ok, its exactly what you would expect in a campsite."

The water pressure was not consistent. At some point we could not bath because there was no water coming from the shower but if you wake up early enough you re okay.

"The guesthouse is located in the heart of the historic district on the main road. It was easy to locate and free parking was provided at the back of the building. The bed and pillows were comfortable and we slept well. All the town's major sights (and an awesome waterpark) are located nearby and easily reached by foot. Breakfast was good. Highly recommend - would stay again."

"Easy check in and restaurant located on site was good value. We were taking the ferry to Ometepe Island and this was the perfect location for the night before. It was less then a 5 min walk even pulling all our luggage from the hotel to the ferry dock."
