"The little wooden house is very unique and comfy. You can see the harbour view when cooking. You can also enjoy sauna by starting a fire yourself too."

"One thing that may need to improve is the instructions of getting to the property. The address is not correct in google maps, so it is very difficult to find. Maybe the owner can add location of the house in google map or tell the guests how to arrive. Otherwise the little road is very easy to miss, and missing it would cause big trouble as you may directly go into the tunnel and need to drive 18km more to turn back. If you are using google maps to navigate, it would be better to navigate to “Vestfjarðarvegur Parking”, after turning to the small driveway, you can find your way to the house slowly without causing trouble to the main road traffic. If you navigate to Tungudalur, you will enter the tunnel"

"We loved our stay at Valhöll, the restored Boy-Scout chalet! With spectacular views the site was enchanting and the chalet was cozy. The history of the chalet is displayed on the walls. The sauna next to the stream is a perfect location for hot steam and cold plunging extremes. The location was convenient between our West Fjords destinations. There are three single beds in the upstairs loft where our kids slept and a double futon that we slept in downstairs. The kitchen was sufficient with two burners, a toaster, small fridge, etc. We enjoyed the complimentary tea. And our youngest son loved the vintage comic book collection in the loft. From the parking it’s a quick path across a bridge and down a trail to the chalet. It’s easy enough to carry suitcases this distance."

"It has a beautiful location overlooking Isafjordur, with a stream running by, and a sauna. Lots of room for guests, and very comfortable inside with wood stoves on both levels. The history is quite rich, and the owner has gone to great lengths to present how the lodge has evolved from 1929 to its current state."

"Arriving at 12 midnight finding the cabin was like a steven spielberg movie.."

"The cabin is really cosy and clean. It has all the stuff you might need to stay for a couple of days with friends. We were a group of 5 adults and we felt very comfortable and taken care of. Location is amazing, views are breathtaking! Definitely a place you want to go back to! :)"

"The location is very serene and quiet. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Supermarket is very nearby, just as the town of Isafjordur."

"Beds are comfortable, but the pillows were a bit too soft for our taste. We tried to fire up the sauna, but as you literally have to fire up the heating this might be challenging. In the end, we didn't manage to get the sauna all up and running without feeling like a smoked fish ourselves."

"The scenery is particularly beautiful. The cabin is in the middle of the canyon. It is the most beautiful house I have ever lived in."
