"The bed matress was extremely hard and that means back pain. I would suggest they maybe change them with a different type, but I guess that's a matter of own preference. The bed was huge though."

"A truly beautiful hotel, filled with intricate carved stucco and woodwork throughout, and a magnificent orange tree standing at the heart of the riad. From the moment we walked in, we were amazed by how stunning the place is. The service was absolutely outstanding from our arrival to the moment we left. Our room was very spacious, and the food was excellent. A wonderful stay overall."

"Almost everything we liked: elegant Moroccan decor makes you feel in a kingdom. Spot clean. Comfy quiet rooms - we had Meknes (2nd floor though) and Tiziz?(1st floor with some steps). Best of all, the staff (Otman is exceptional- warm, knowledgeable, good English when suggesting local information. He anticipates our needs to make us feel at home). The lady at reception is friendly and helpful with patience. I highly recommend this Riad. You will be delighted. Location is 2 min walk on flat easy-walk road to souks/eateries, and to main road for car/ taxi access."

"During 1 of our 4 nights stay, the shower water was lukewarm, uncomfortable giving the winter. I guess it was due to timing when all guests were back and using hot water. One room has a step-in shower but Meknes room has a deep bathtub- stepping-in for shower. It is not convenient."

"It is gorgeous inside! Just a spectacular space to sit in and rest after a long day of exploring! The staff is fantastic and responsive. Breakfasts were lovely and dinner our first night was good."

"Very little! I would have loved to get a menu for dinner on line. Slippers for the shower would have been a nice plus—but really it was a great place!"

"The staffs are very warm, kind and easy to communicate. Mammoud reached out to me before we arrived. He provided us good information regarding where to get off so we don’t have to walk far with our suitcases. It was a relief to have someone to assist us especially it was our first time in Fez. We had a basket of laundry to wash and Mammoud arranged someone to get our clothes done. The hotel is beautiful, clean and very spacious. The location, WiFi, AC and hot water are excellent. Price is so worth it. 10/10 for Riad Alya. Kudos"

"I stayed at Riad Alya with my 13-year-old daughter and we had a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and made booking our tours very easy. We always felt safe and well looked after. The riad is beautiful, very clean, and our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfasts were fresh, plentiful, and a great way to start the day. The location was excellent and easy to access. I would highly recommend Riad Alya and would definitely stay again."

"Staff was fantastic. I had the Casa Suite which is quite large with a very big bathroom with jacuzzi bath. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was very nice. The building itself it gorgeous with all it’s Moroccan design elements."

"Would have preferred an elevator but it is a historic building so not to be unexpected. The staff would be happy to carry luggage up the stairs for you."
