"Stayed here with my husband and three friends at the beginning and end of our trip. (Four nights total) We all really loved this hostel. Stayed in a bungalow, then later in the family room. Both were nice and have mosquito nets. There’s plenty of spots outdoors in the shade to hangout and escape the heat of midday. The food is also amazing- we ate many meals here as the menu offers a lot of variety (vegetarian and meat options) as well as juices, smoothies, tea, coffee, etc. (try the zucchini beignets) Overall clean and welcoming hostel, friendly staff and owner. Also met some cool locals and travelers at Triskell, so if you are solo, you will most likely make friends here ☺️(stayed here end of January and mid February) Highly recommend!"

"The host fixed us up on a direct bus from Nouakchott to Terjit. All other independent travelers we met had no idea that you could get there without taking a bus to Atar first. Traveling in Mauritania independently (without one of those exorbitant multi-day tours), this accommodation is an ideal starting point. We gained a lot of valuable inside tips here. Additionally, rooms were a good value, and the Wi-Fi worked well for my 1-hour Zoom meeting."

"I really enjoyed sleeping in a tent on the roof top and the open air shower. The tent had a nice bed with a bug net and fan. Located in a great location and you can meet fellow travelers."

"This was a safe and comfortable place to begin and end my trip in Mauritania. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful and Sebastian, the owner, was very competent and trustworthy; open to answering any logistical questions. For one of the nights I was alone (I'm a woman in my 40s) and I felt entirely safe."

"This was a great, peaceful haven in an area with a bunch of restaurants within walking distance. The beds were comfortable, the mosquito nets worked well, and the breakfast was nice. We felt safe and enjoyed our stay! Only things missing: toilet paper and towels."

"I ended up staying here for 3 nights - lovely place, one of the best and last (if you’re heading south) with a hostel vibe (next one is in Freetown and then nothing until Ghana). The owner made some copies of my documents free of charge and in general even the guys there were very helpful."

"One of my soccer jerseys (shirts) wasn’t returned when I did laundry there. If you see one of the guys with an original 2024 West Ham jersey (kit) well…that’s why I didn’t rate it 10/10 but only 9/10…unfortunately I didn’t notice it until I left for Senegal."

"Perfect oasis in Nouakchott. I stayed in a private cabin on the roof. The bed wasn't super comfortable but I was very happy with the mosquito net and the hot shower. We were able to use the kitchen which was a big plus. Safe parking for my motorcycle another big plus. Really cool atmosphere and friendly staff."
