Guest reviews for Scandic Vulkan
"Perfect hotel, receptionists were helpful and nice, very clean, big rooms, big bathrooms and comfortable bed. The location is just a 15 min walk from the center! Very safe neighborhood (like all oslo)"
"Everything was perfect"
"The receptionist was very helpful and understanding for my request to checkin early. I was recovery from the flu and needed to rest before my meeting. Thank you Johanna! (hope I spelled that right) :)"
"Nothing everything was as expected."
"Wonderful breakfast and comfortable beds, great location"
"Nothing!"
"Breakfast was well stocked, breakfast staff friendly and available if needed. Easy to call for a taxi, 24hr reception or availability of staff."
"Availability of a laundry service but not really affordable and limited to certain hours."
"No fridge, no coffee machine, no complimentary coffee like they have in America, Germany, Taiwan, China, Sweden. So the atmosphere is a very cold one. Not like other countries (I mean feeling it was warm outside). You sold cheap machine coffee for a the price of gourmet coffee in the United States. You guys said do you want the room refreshed, which is poor attitude to try to guilt people into not taking services common in th rest of the world to maximize profits. When we said yes it seemed like the guy failed to make the no service sale."
"Simply travel to other hotels around the world and realise many countries just do hotels better than you guys do. Coffee costs pennies there no reason not to have a free for guests latte/expresso machine available 24 hours. It cost something like $200 a month to operate in coffee and milk and saves your guests $1000s and makes them feel like millions. Not having it in the room is one thing not having it anywhere is not done anywhere else in the world I've traveled."
"Scandic Vulkan was in a great location, perfect for wandering and exploring the Grünerlokka area, and walking along the River. We loved the delicious breakfast buffet, and the proximity to Mathallen - the indoor food market."

"Great location near the city centre and Grünerløkka neighborhood."

"A nice hotel, reachable by a bus from the main station Oslo S, less than 10 min walking to the tram, next to Mathallen food court and a nice park with waterfalls. Very reach breakfast. Polite staff, good cleanliness (not the perfect), toiletries, an ironboard and iron in the room, comfy bead with remote controller for adjusting height (I didn't test it too much)."
"Nothing special."
"Clean, well decorated and comfortable. Also the staff was very nice. Good location too!"

"Breakfast was very good. We liked the location in a less touristy neighborhood. There was a park across the street and a food hall with several restaurants in the same development. We liked the easy access to the pedestrian path along the river that we could take to get to central Oslo."
"Minor annoyances detracted from the overall experience. The sink drained slowly. The headboard was not plugged in so we had no lights or power until we got that sorted late in our stay. The top kept popping off the soap dispenser so I switched it out with one in the shower. There was no way to exit n the ground floor where the food hall is located. The card slot for the power is located next to the bathroom instead of by the front door. There was nothing major wrong but the little annoyances added up."
