"Everything was perfect, honestly. When we first stepped into the room - we had the suite above the kitchen / dining part of the property - we were so blown away that we let out an audible gasp. The view was beyond spectacular. In addition to that, the host was communicative and awesome, all of the food was incredible, and it was a perfect homebase for three days while we explored the area."

"I was so disappointed we spent only one night. Sergio and Jana operate a world class retreat. Service was beyond exceptional. Jana paid attention to every detail. She organized every single part of the trip and made sure that all of our needs were met. Sergio was creative, engaging, super helpful with any of our plans and made sure that our retreat was at one with nature. There is the option to have your dinner prepared there and I would recommend it to anyone. All of the food is farm to table and much was grown on site. There are parrots that are outside the window in the morning and it is a terrific place to relax. Much of the art and ceramics were made by the hosts. They are high-quality and for those of you who can carry some home, you should. The rooms were perfectly appointed and I now want to bring my family there for an extended stay."

"We stayed in the suite and it was lovely - very big, places to lounge, and one of the most beautiful views I’ve ever had from a hotel room. All three cabins are separate so there is plenty of privacy and quiet. We liked the communal kitchen where they offered various types of food for self-prep since the options in town are very much one-note and had exactly the same menus. The property is walking distance from the tiny town, the hiking path to the waterfall, and the hummingbird sanctuary. The pool was clean and along with the yoga area, had the amazing view of the waterfall. Good WiFi and attentive hosts. We had a great stay and recommend it highly!"

"Goctalab was our first stay on our northern Peru trip and it was truly an amazing place to jump start our travels. Sirgigo and Gianna are amazing hosts and the property is absolutely beautiful. The room was so comfortable and the view is epic. We ended up eating both dinners at GoctaLab and they were both amazing, with local flavors and excellent portions after long days of hiking!"

"The GoctaLab was an exceptionally nice place to stay. We stayed in the suite for 3 nights and the view of the cloud forest and the waterfall when we woke up through the wide window front was our highlight. The breakfast was very, very good and we also liked the idea of having small dishes in the fridge to take away. The bed was super comfortable."
