"Lovely room with a great view. Nice breakfast with a wonderful veranda to sit eat and relax."

"The facilities were clean, the room was small but nice and the shower was hot and good water pressure. The garden where you can eat breakfast or relax in the evening was lovely with amazing views over Funchal. The pool area was nice and plenty of seating. The hotel is about 25-30 minutes walk down to the centre but it is a very steep hill, not recommended for families with young children or people with mobility issues. There are places to eat closer to the hotel but they all involve walking up and down very steep hills."
"The bed was very hard but we got used to it. The hill."
"Great pool Good breakfast Good kitchen Garden was nice to sit"
"Second floor not an easy with luggage Shower water was stuck and didn’t flow well"
"I loved the room and the view! Breakfast was delicious and they even made us more eggs when we came down a little later to eat!"
"Nothing, it was amazing!"
"We enjoyed our host Stephania the best ! She was so kind and knowledgeable and responsive to any need anybody had the whole time we were there, five nights. The place was immaculately cleaned and stuff on you was a wealth of information about the area. The breakfasts were lovely with wonderful home cooked eggs every morning hard boiled eggs, fruit pastries, breads, cereals ,yogurts, cheese and ham, milk coffee and juice. Very delicious. We like that we could sit inside or out and enjoy meeting some of the other guests. We enjoyed buying some local food and eating it on our beautiful deck of our room."
"What could have been better was the bed in our room needed to be replaced because wires were coming up from inside the bed into our bodies and we were surprised at the poor condition of of the bed. Way time to replace it. The other problem we had was and this has nothing to do with Stephania, was The Barking dog so close to our balcony and bedroom that was from the next house over and was so horribly annoying every evening when we got home around 4:00 or 5:00 until we went to bed and then it finally shut up. I felt bad for Stephania because there was nothing she could do about it because it was beyond her control."
"Loved the gardens, outdoor seating and being away from the crowds."
"Nothing! It is a great place. The location is challenging because of the steepness of the street, but there is public transportation nearby."
"The most beautiful accommodation looking outside, where I have ever been. Excellent place to enjoy a peaceful vacation. By using economical tax services, this cute small hotel is reachable from downtown Funchal easily - fee less than 5€!"

"It felt like a dream. Garden was like from a novel or a movie, I enjoyed there every moment. Lovely breakfast that they serve in there and a quiet evening reading in the garden swing really made my days in Funchal magical. The sea view from our room (I think it was no. 6) was stunning and even the bathroom had a sea view under the palm trees so we could enjoyed it while we were having a shower.xD Rooms are being cleaned every day. Host is doing amazing job with everything - managing cleaning, serving breakfast, taking care of the garden, fishes, birds and always being in a good mood and having a time for a little chat if you need something or you have any questions about the city, hikes or anuthing else. Pool was never crowded and it was usually a great idea after a long day of hiking. I would gladly recommend A Casa do Caseiro to everyone."

"In general we had a lovely time there. Location is amazing, Steffi is super nice without her it wouldn't be the same.but for us the breakfast was the highlight with the views. If you have a car it is easy to park. Ideal accommodation to visit the city and go hiking"

"The host, Stefania, is an absolute amazing host. She is very conversational and interested in her guests, asking them about their plans and giving suggestions. Normally breakfast is between 8.30 and 10.30, but twice we had to have breakfast at 7.45 because of an early tour that morning. She kindly made sure there was food for us, putting down exactly what she knew we liked without having to ask for it. The view from the breakfast area is just stunning. The bed is comfortable and fills up most of the room, but there's enough room to store your suitcase, clothes and toiletries. There's also a nice balcony. The location is wonderful, there are two bus stops five minutes away from which you can get to the centre in about 15 minutes, from early morning to late evening."

"We were on the Fishermen's trail and only stayed one night and did not really use all the amenities. It's a lovely place and I can highly recommend it. Lovely staff. They also gave us a room upgrade with an amazing view."

"Very nice place. Very quiet, in the middle of horses. It was so nice to sit on the veranda and soak in the atmosphere. The veranda is also very nicely sheltered from the wind."

"super nice hosts, who drove us into town. possibility of hanging out in the main building - with a reading corner and a bar - in the evening, which was very cozy. comfortable bed, hot showers, good breakfast."

"Cosy room.in a traditional old farm building. The table by the swimming pool had a fabulous vista down the valley to Vizela and beyond; perfect for watching the sunset directly ahead whilst bats fly around and sipping the delicious wine made by the family. We regret not bringing some home! The owner went the extra mile for us, for example taking our laundry and ironing even in the middle of a heatwave"

"We did the Camino and it was right on the Camino trail. Payment is via cash only. The rooms are small but adequate for just one night. Nice place as it has its own vineyard. The caretaker is also very friendly. They provide a pilgrim dinner for 16 euro but we did not do that as we do not eat a heavy dinner. It did look good though."
"This place is so charming and having a kitchen and fireplace made it very nice."
