Guest reviews for Casas das Guimbras
"It was lovely - the owner was really accommodating and helpful- but extremely hard to get to"
"It was extremely hard to find and very hard to access up an extremely narrow road- the owner finally graciously came to meet us in town to lead the way or we would have never got there- it took two days for the house to finally get warm"
"The family’s that owns the property is LOVELY and very accommodating. We had to make last minute reservations and they were super helpful and hospitable. The casita is private and well-kept, as is the pool. Really pleasant quiet, peaceful surroundings. It was delightful."
"Nothing at all. You must have confidence to drive on the road to get there! Not dangerous but very twisty and extremely narrow (one way) like many of the roads in the National park."
"Kind host, classic old house. Not very modern inside but everything you need is available. Private pool, beatiful area."
"Not many windows in the house but i guess thats typical due to the heat in the summer."
"Peaceful and remote with a great pool and outdoor area. Large kitchen/living area. Amazing views and nice walks directly from the door. Great BBQ. The roadway is narrow and bumpy, but it's worth the journey. Would highly recommend."

"The apartment was ok, if a bit dated in its decor. The view across the valley was beautiful. The area was very quiet and peaceful, if a bit remote and accessed by a narrow single-lane road. We slept with windows wide open, which was nice. The pool area, terrace and gardens were well kept and tidy. The sun shines directly in the apartment in the morning -- a lovely way to wake up."
"The host required a rental deposit by international wire transfer, for which his bank appeared to charge a 20 euro processing fee (I sent 135e, but he only received 115e). He claimed this had never happened before and insisted that I pay the 20e difference. So in effect, I paid an extra 20e for our stay. This hardly seemed fair, nor appropriate, given the payment method was the hosts choice. Elsewhere, the apartment lacked basic supplies - like salt, oil, vinegar, paper towel, napkins -- all of which we had to buy. Some appliances needed repair -- like the stove fan/light, which had clearly been in poor condition for a while. There are only two plugs in the kitchen -- one very awkwardly placed above the sink, and the other at the far end of the counter and used for multiple for appliances -- including the washing machine. So no convenient way to charge phones, tablets, etc. The tub/shower arrangement did not function well -- no holder for the wand and no shower curtain, so one is obliged to either take a bath, or shower sitting down. Nowhere to store toiletries. In sum, we were disappointed and would not stay here again."
"The stay was fantastic, loved having our own space in the most beautiful setting. I wish we stayed longer! The host was very kind and his communication made our stay stress-free. Lots of nature activities available nearby and some shops and restaurants, but I recommend taking groceries with you."
"Everything was fantastic! But as other reviews have said, you need to be a confident driver to reach the property!"
"Great Location. If you love nature this is the place to stay. Fantastic view Very calm place to stay Heat and AC worked well"
"Home appliances need maintenance: Host warn us about the hob plate (it will be replaced) and the microwave sometimes didn't heat the food The bed wasn´t very conformable and I would suggest to change the mattress"
"Very nice apartment for four people, everything you need, peace and quiet, nice swimming pool with clear water and with a nice view of the mountains and lakes, but a little far from the city, you need a car. I recommend!"
"all was OK"
"One of the best place I've been in my life. It was amazing. You are truly connected with the nature."

"The hosts were great. A family-run guest house, good value for money and a great way to experience the local culture. The nearby restaurant they recommended was a real gem."
Naude Casa Dos Gomes

Carlos Casa Da Laborada
"Perfect place to explore Porto. Abel is a very sociable and polite host who is ready to help in any situation. Convenient location of the apartment (ocean view, there are many restaurants, cafe and shops nearby). Despite the multi-level version of the apartment, it was comfortable for us (we were with children aged 11 and 6). The kids really liked it too. I definitely recommend."

"The hotel is situated in a small village. It was a national holiday, but there was a restaurant inside the hotel where you can have lunch and dinner. Prices were rather low, simple food. Though it is better to double-check the prices. Continental breakfast was included in the price, with toasts, ham, fruits, etc. Overall, it was nice. There is a beautiful river view 10 minutes away by car, and a small waterfall - 30 minutes by car. It was warm in the room."

"If you live in a busy city and want to stay way from all that noise than this is the prefect house for you. I wanted to relax and have some peace without no one disturbing me. Everyone in the village was friendly and very helpful. The house was very comfortable and clean. It felt like being at home. House owners were very helpful, always there to make sure everything was perfect. I would like to come back in near future."
