"Everything about this rural estate and our stay is wonderful. Our hosts are very friendly. The accommodation is super comfortable. The grounds are beautiful. Breakfast was amazing. Great restaurants within walking distance, not to mention the beautiful beach. We absolutely love it here. We feel so lucky to have found this lovely place while hiking the fisherman’s Trail."

"My husband and I had an absolutely amazing, peaceful stay here. It's a little slice of heaven up in the mountains near the coast, and the quiet and tranquility were perfect. The property is gorgeous and the rooms and beds were very comfortable. The owner is incredibly helpful and welcoming, and the homemade breakfast was an AMAZING spread that went far beyond our expectations. We would definitely stay again!"

"This was a little slice of heaven. We only stayed one night but wished we were staying longer . Beautiful peaceful location. Accommodation was lovely, plenty of space for our family, with a sleeping loft for the kids , living area, bedroom and bathroom and terrace with a hammock and views of the pool and ocean. We visited the beach Monte Clerigo earlier in the day. It’s not the closest beach but was only 10 mins away and was beautiful. The kids enjoyed the animals roaming around and we loved the delicious fresh breakfast delivered to your door. We hope to be back to explore the west coast of Portugal more and would definitely come back to Herdade Monte do sol"

"Such a special gem of a place - we felt so lucky to spend a few peaceful days here and would dream of returning. 6 minutes from Arrifana beach and the hosts were so kind and welcoming. Breakfast was so nice. Couldn’t have been better."

"We stayed with Alvaro on our Fisherman’s Trail layover day. What a perfect choice. The setting is rural with views, pool, peacocks and pets (we love furry friends!) Our day off turned out to be a great one to hunker down indoors (unprecedented wind), enjoy breakfast (delivered to our door!) and “retool.” Overnight brought hurricane-like wind and rain and we felt so secure in a well-built structure (trees in the area didn’t fare as well.) After walking to dinner (about a mile) we settled in front of the fire (: Thanks for a great stay in Arrifana."
