"I came for a few days and eventually stayed for more than a month. Lulu and Sergey are great people and they treat their guests like family, which I really love and felt like home, staying there from day one."

"Very chilled and relaxed hostel very close to the center. I had my own room which was very comfortable, the bed and furniture etc. were more than adequate. It was cold so I am not sure about the A/C but it was there on the wall! The swimming pool was there as well but a large portable one that really didn't look that great, murky water etc. but you don't come to Asuncion to swim! Very nice staff, I would definitely return."

"Cool hostel, kind of a "chill hippie" vibe. Mostly long-stay guests and volunteers, so a very social atmosphere (Spanish-speaking). Comfy beds with curtains in the dorms. Manager and volunteers are great. Free filtered water. Large kitchen. Very clean place. Hot showers."

"They have to manually unlock and then re-lock the main door every time you enter or leave. So to just "pop out and get something" is a really arduous process of finding the person, waiting for them to unlock it, then waiting for them again when you come back. For that reason alone I went to a different hostel, couldn't stand it. It's also a huge fire hazard - you'd be trapped inside the building with no way to leave. They could easily buy a digital lock with a code."

"Nice kitchen. Aircon was very good in the dorm room. It had curtains on the bunk beds. Bunk had private outlet and light. Bring your padlock for storage locker."

"I stayed once and this became my hub for future visits to Asunción. Isla Francia is quiet, secure, comfortable, and boasts a good kitchen with gas stove, A/C rooms, a grassy area to lounge around in hammocks, and even a barbecue grill. I would highly recommend."

"The only thing I'd recommend for them is to put a soap dish in the second shower."

"Lolo was very friendly and helpful. She helped me with making some calls in Spanish to help reserve my spot for transportation. The rooms were decent and the facilities were clean."

"This is a beautiful, historic building. It feels like an old convent. And it's walking distance to everything in the historic center of Asuncion."
