Hostels in Paraguay

"The location is a bit remote from the city of Lugano, but the views are wonderful and it's surrounded by nature. The house itself is very cozy, welcoming and well maintained."

Wifi was very poor both in the living room and the private bedroom. I struggled connecting for work. I can't say that this was good value for money considering how far it was from Lugano city centre and all other activity spots. I didn't have breakfast, because it was another 20 francs on top of everything else and that wasn't really ideal for someone travelling on a budget.

"It's a basic place, but nice. The bathroom is clean and functional (and great hot water). The bedroom is perfectly fine for a night or two, but would struggle with lots of packing and unpacking if you were staying a while. Owner is super super friendly and nice."

"Pros - location right in old town was great. Rooms were clean and spacious (for a hostel) and the facilities were better than expected. It is in an old house and my private room had a balcony over the garden. AC worked well and the bathroom was clean with good hot water. Lots of shared spaces. The bar had reasonable food and was a good place to hang out in the evening. This was one of the better hostels I've used in Latin America. I had a private room, so can't speak for the dorms. Was quiet after 11 pm. I loved this hostel."

Cons - not much. Colonia is an expensive place to stay so the value for money was quite good. The hallway carpets could use a good cleaning, or at least a vacuum but there was construction happening in a room nearby so that might explain the dirt.

"The location sits on main public transit options; Bus stop, METRO station, and one street away a main connecting street offering additional public bus stops & connections. A short walk uphill lands you at a central interception from which all directions of pedestrian pathways are possible to explore the city and sights."

Food shops & markets in the district are regionally expensive. The area for basic cold food storage and microwave reheating of food needs a serious update. For the number of guests the refrigerator is way to small. The small microwave does not fit common delivery food packages, or a standard dinner plate for reheating.

"Bedding and towels and shower supplies and kitchenware, microwave, sugar, and a welcome pack of foods and hot drinks were all provided. Extremely friendly staff. Great bar and restaurant for dining later in the day, great venue."

"Great value for the money. We had bug net on windows and around the bed. Hot water in the shower, you can see the ocean from the roof. Street is not busy, can park car next to a hotel door. Overall I'm really happy with my stay."

"You literally only have to cross a small road and you are right on the beach, less than 100 meters from the Indian Ocean - and just a short walk to Tofo market with all the nice restaurants and bars. Perfect location, not too busy or noisy. Great value for money, friendly staff."

"Riad is beautiful and is very comfortable with all kinds of amenities. You can easily spend the whole day inside if you wanna take a break from the hustle bustle. I took services like facial massage and full body massage. They were very well delivered. The staff is friendly and helping. Definitely recommend it."

Rooms on the lower floors can be slightly noisy since they’re right in from of the pool but the people were very respectful so didn’t have much trouble.

"The place was cheap and affordable. But also provided great amenities which made it feel like home. The staff were also very friendly and check-in was easy."

I had a couple of noisy roommates who snored but otherwise it was ok.

"Good location, especially if you are doing any diving. Really nice that there are some affordable options in Palau. Shared bathroom facility was clean and simple. It was everything that I needed."

Communication was a bit challenging with the front desk.

"The location is in a quiet neighborhood. Public transport will tell you to take airport direct 2 (TD2,3) and get off at the Miller stop (it seem sketch at first bc very little ppl walking around, especially at night, but it really is a safe location and cozy spot). It's only a 20 min walk away from Sliema and St. Julians. Everywhere in Malta is very safe btw."

Didn't love the front key, took me a minute to use the big key (but you learn fast). Can't control this - but ppl snoring in my room is always hard for me (but i prlly also snore lol).

The kitchen facilities are a bit tricky because one kitchen is so small (one person can fit) and the upstairs kitchen has little sitting (except outside if the weather allows).

I didn't like that some guests were smoking in the public area, it's not possible according to the rules in the UAE. The washing machine and the fritz are sharing one plug, it's completely unbelievable why this Small problem was not taken care of a long time ago. The tap in the bathroom has a hole so the water is being sprayed all over the place. This is clearly a proof of bad leadership in this company when small things can't be fixed 😔 The staff Fayas is doing a good job keeping the place clean, and are always smiling 😊

"The Host was so welcoming with great communication and ensured that I was taken care of even when my flight was delayed and I ended up arriving way later that I had initially communicated. She is a 10/10 host. The security is really good in the property. The location is central. A great place if you are looking for a simple place to rest your head before onward travel."

The place wasn’t up to my personal cleanliness standards, though others who are less particular might find it perfectly fine for a night’s stay

No complaints! I think this hostel should be rated more highly than it is. Would stay here again and would recommend others to stay here.

The beds were quite uncomfortable. Mosquito nets full of holes. Understandably the building and windows are old but need to have appendages added to be able to prop them open because there is no airflow and pretty stuffy and smelly rooms.
