"Kelly and his family are amazing hosts. We feel in family! :-) Kelly is so helpful and talkative, always able to give suggestions and help finding activities to do, contacts, etc. His son, Junior, went with us to many places and activities and we fell him like a younger brother! :-) All the family made us feel welcome and at "home far from home". Installations are simple, but in a nice location, in the countryside, quite and friendly place, not far from Goroka center/easy bus connections but we have everything we needed, even to cook our meals. If you want a simple and family place to stay, with someone who will help you around, this is the place! If once I go back PNG and Goroka, I'll stay here again! :-) Thanks Kelly, Junior and family! Hope to see you again!"

It's normal to have light and water cuts. But it's common in the region/general problem and not from the place.

"I had an amazing stay at this hostel! The staff were incredible, especially Alexander he was super friendly, always available, and ready to help with anything. He really made the experience even better❤️❤️❤️. The room was very clean, and the bathroom was spotless too. they have a professional cleaner everything was well taken care of. The kitchen was fully furnished, clean, and easy to use 👌👌. Most importantly, I had so much fun staying here. The atmosphere was great, and I felt comfortable the whole time. "One of the better hostels I’ve stayed at, conveniently located next to the bus station and a short walk into the town. Luggage storage for when you want to head into the mountains. Bathrooms are cleaned regularly, as well as the kitchen and rooms. Very social atmosphere with the common areas having lots of seating and the staff being warm and welcoming. Ramado was an absolutely gem of a host, super helpful with advice :)"

I just didn’t like the sand everywhere for example when I get out of the shower maybe adding some carpet so that our bed don’t get sandy but it wasn’t that big of a deal. So grateful I stayed at the Surfside

The push shower was the only thing I did not like but that really doesn’t matter much.

"Perfect location, right beside the castle. There’s a path just right in front of the hostel. You can go up from there and it took about 10 minutes you’ll have the good view of the castle"

Not easy to access by bike

"Amazing experience within the local villages, natural beauty and in a calm area. Very nice staff, everybody takes a lot of care to make you feel good. Recommended to take the opportunity to go around with a guide to avoid orientation problems."

"A Pleasant Surprise at Palm Garden! We booked Palm Garden without checking any reviews—only afterward did we take a look and feel a bit unsure. My husband even told me not to say anything about the booking, just to see how it was when we got there. But to our surprise, from the moment we arrived, everything was wonderful. At the doorstep, we were greeted by Madu at reception, who welcomed us with the warmest smile—as if we had known her for years! 😊 Our room was spotlessly clean, very spacious, with a large comfortable bed and a lovely balcony overlooking a beautiful view. It was clear that the staff really care about maintaining a high standard."

The approach of the owner was a bit dissatisfactory after we had been delayed at the immigration office in Chimoio.

"The beds were clean and had mosquito nets. The room was spacious with only 4 beds. There's an AC in the room and 2 fans. The location is good; it's like a village on the western side of the city. It is safe even walking at night. There are small shops nearby. You can buy basic stuff and cook in the fully equipped kitchen. The beaches are 15-20 minutes walking or 5 min by tuktuk. The fast ferry to the airport is just 10 min walking distance. The staff were ok and helpful. The view from the balcony is great. It's the cheapest place in town. In fact it's the only hostel in Freetown on Booking.com. They have a generator in case of power cuts. The wifi is fast."

The toilet needs a bit of cleaning and maintenance. There's no hot water and the water pressure is weak. The generator is right under the dorm window; very loud. But still; you get what you pay for. A basic hotel in the area is 3-4 times more expensive.
