"The location was wonderful! I loved the hot pot on site and the sauna! The proximity to so many water falls and Laugarfell was great! We enjoyed the cute museum on site and appreciated the 50% discount! The staff was incredibly helpful. We forgot a suitcase and they quickly realized our mistake and called us before we had been gone more than a few minutes. It was a quick turnaround to be reunited with our belongings! So kind and thoughtful!"

"The hotel is located in a very good location.Close to nice beaches, to the old town, to the aquapark... We received two rooms connected by a door (family room) which was a very good solution for us The staff was great, the food was very good (especially if you are not vegeterian), the place is very clean and well maintended. There are taxis working with the hotel with fixed rates per location."

The resort is great if you have young kids. There are almost no vegeterian food options during the day between the main meals (even the pizza was with meet) Altought according to booking.com comments it seems that no metter which hotel you reserve (bay, mare or palace) you are allowed to use all the facilities...this is not the case...each pool has signs saying that the facility is for a a specific hotel The hotel private beach is good only if you are in the palace hotel...otherwise...you are not getting anything there and also the sea shore is small and not so attractive... You are allowed to order once a week dinner in one of two restaurants located in the resort. I couldn't order anything during our week stay since it was full...

The houses are on a 3-4 min walk from the place where you eat and the spa. After being at the spa, you need to walk in the cold in the winter to get to the room if you do not bring the car.

"The rooms are large and comfortable. The grounds are very well kept, and the pool area is wonderful. This was my third time at this property in ten years. The service was excellent."

The hotel organizes events on the grounds that go until midnight. The first night we were there, it was very loud and the noise was right in our room. The third night, there was another one. It takes away from the calm of the property to host these types of events, even on weeknights. This fact makes me reconsider staying here again because it spoils having a quiet evening in the room or hotel.

"The hotel is located very close to the beach, you can also use the outdoor and indoor pool. The indoor pool is especially nice when the weather is colder. The price also includes a nice wellness. It is great to have the option to buy lunch and dinner. All the food was excellent."

"Well maintained, super friendly and helpful staff. Room was always well stocked with towels and cleaned. Nicola does a great job by the pool keeping everyone happy with towels, food and drinks. Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly and the bartender was always smiling and talkative. D Richard’s steakhouse was great - Steak Diane and Filet were both excellent. Sol de Mar had good Mediterranean style food with a relaxed atmosphere. My husband and I ate here on a few occasions- pasta with lobster, veal scallopini both great choices. Close location to a number of off property restaurants that are excellent."

The pads on the loungers are very old, worn thin and extremely uncomfortable to sit on. Chef’s Table wasn’t good- we ate only one dinner there and the lobster cake and fish were dried out. The pasta dish with Shrimp had the full shell on the shrimp still making eating very messy. Lobster Fest on the beach was disappointing. The lobster was dried out as it had been sitting under lamps for some time. We waited 30 minutes past our reservation time to finally get a table after speaking with the manager in charge. Very unorganized.

"I loved the small details they do for you. The night team does turn down. They leave a little surprise snack for you. Nothing gets even close to their hospitality. Everyone and management is amazing. This is my 2nd time going and I will never stay anywhere else but with them."

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this place.

"It was out in the countryside where it was peaceful. It was also near Dalhalla where I attended a concert."

No taxis nearby and no shuttle service to/from the train station. Their shuttle was in the shop the week I was staying there.

"Majority of the staff here are very nice, welcoming, and helpful. There are a few who were a little rude however the politeness of the others outshine those interactions by far. Special mention to Triston who was very polite, patient, and insightful throughout our entire trip. Jeremiah was also very nice and helped make our trip special with his suggestions and assistance at the beach. There was also a manager whose name started with a T who welcomed us upon arrival and checked on us to ensure everything was to our liking. From the initial interactions, these staff members helped our group of 6 feel like we were regular visitors at the Verandah although this was our first stay. I would defiantly return and highly recommend a stay here. Sidebar: The food is great and well seasoned!"

The property is very large and sometimes there is a long wait to get a buggy to travel. There could be a few more shaded areas throughout the property especially when waiting for transportation.

"Just generally one of those special places that will stick in my memory forever. A collection of pretty little cabins by the beach surrounded by palm trees with hammocks slung between them for whiling away the days. With only the sounds of birds and waves. Where everyone just hangs out and chats, the staff, the other guests, the extremely interesting and gregarious owner Gregory (no pun intended). I could spend a week here just forgetting about the outside world. The various arrangements (airport transfer, transfer back to town, activities) all went smoothly as well. Which is my no means guaranteed in this part of the world."

Not much but if I went again I'd maybe pay a little more for the room with ensuite shower rather than sharing a communal shower with non locking door. Obviously this is budget accommodation in West Africa so it's of the rustic eco lodge variety rather than the western style hotel room variety in case anyone is expecting that.

"This place is literally out of a dream. The rooms are gorgeous and so peaceful, the small size of the hotel makes it very quiet and relaxing, and the staff is beyond amazing. We can’t wait to come back, and will stay here for all trips to the Cook Islands!"

Absolutely nothing, everything was perfect

"Das Zimmer war überraschend groß und modern eingerichtet – man merkt sofort, dass alles neu ist. Besonders schön: die tolle Ausstattung mit Espresso-Maschine und kostenlosem Kaffee. Auch das Bad war sehr geräumig und hochwertig gestaltet. Über die Terrasse mit eigenem Strandkorb hatte man einen wunderbaren Blick Richtung Bodden – perfekt, um abends den Tag ausklingen zu lassen"

Das Zimmer ließ sich trotz der Verdunkelungsmöglichkeiten nur bedingt abdunkeln, da durch die Milchglastür früh Tageslicht hereinkam. Bei der Ankunft war es zudem recht staubig, was etwas den ersten Eindruck trübte. Außerdem war der Kaffeeweißer aufgrund der hohen Luftfeuchtigkeit auf der Insel hart geworden.

You can feel that the hotel isn’t new, the tv and the air conditioning was very old and sometimes didn’t work but the staff helped us and were very nice.

"We only stayed here for one night but we were very happy with everything. The reception staff were lovely and helpful, the rooms were large and very comfy, the grounds were immaculate and it was a hop skip and a jump from the beach."

Everything was very nice.

"We loved the atmosphere overall and the staff was incredible! They were so kind and helpful. Also, the food served at the restaurants in the resort was delicious!!! We knew every meal was going to be great!"

There was just one moment when after getting massages, our masseuse had difficulty pulling up our account information to charge us for the massages, so we had to come back to the massage area about 3 hours later and even then, it took about 30 mins for her to get everything taken care of. I don't think this was a common incident or our masseuse's fault, but I'm just being nitpicky.

"The view from the restaurant is beautiful and the whole place is so beautiful and peaceful. The linen was top notch. Breakfast was also very good. Me and my family loved it."

The glasses weren't clean.

"This is a massive resort, but one of the fanciest places with the most well trained staff we have ever been to. Exceptionally helpful and kind, excellent architecture throughout the whole facility. We took out we ATV and dune buggy on a couple of trips which was awesome. It rained most of the time we were there, but there is plenty to do. A full of five star resort and experience."

We came in early March, definitely their low season. This place would be incredible during the summer season when the beach and pools are open

Breakfast wasn't included - i think it said on the booking, but i'm not sure. anyway, didn't care. Staff was OK, but could be better.

"Stayed two nights. The hotel is brand new and sits right in George Town's heritage zone, beside Khoo Kongsi temple, and the location alone is worth it. Checking in here feels less like arriving at a hotel and more like being invited into someone's cherished (and very luxurious) ancestral home. Breakfast was cooked-to-order in the courtyard. We had the western option - shakshuka, smashed avocado on toast, simple and well done. There were cultural advisors on hand to craft personalised itineraries. We did the Journey of the Gods trishaw tour and were amazed by the diversity of local religious traditions. Overall, great experience. Would definitely stay again."

"Staff: super supportive. One of the member of our party injured, and Cresta staff immediately checked her status, then suggested us the solutions (private doctor or public hospital) then someone escorted us to the doctor then the pharmacy. Food: extremely rich breakfast, fantastic selection of foods for dinner. All the three evenings the staff congratulated to the guests who had anniversary with some folk-dance and singing improvized. The park: everywhere warthogs, some bushbucks, banded mongooses and cheeky vervets (be careful, they are stealers!) Rooms: cosy Programs: there is a travel office on site, and they organize trips to Vic Falls, Chobe Game Reserve and boat cruises on Chobe River."

Absence of guide for beach activities and a the lighting of the room was a bit darker. However, it doesn't affect my overall rating. I love the room.
