"The breakfast's were fine and the staff was excellent. They went out of their way to accommodate you in any way they could. I will definitely return to this hotel and recommend it to friends."
"There was nothing not to like."
"Staff very nice and helpfull, near the center (walking distance), good breakfast. Hotel according to the price."
"The shower was a little unconfortable, because the bathroom itself is the shower."
"Great basic hotel. Comfortable room with a good shower, and a good breakfast and dinner with a great view. Would stay again. Staff was very accommodating in extending our stay at the last minute."
"Nothing"
"We only stayed for one night, but owner went above and beyond to make sure we knew what was needed to get over the border to Tanzania safely. Rooms were comfortable and quiet. Located near the bus station."
"Nothing. It was a good value spot and we would stay here again"
"I absolutely love this hotel. The people are amazing and as friendly as can be. The hotel was also so clean - very impressive! My only issue is that a few things need updating. Otherwise, a wonderful place!"
"A few things need to be updated."
"The hotel has a wonderful terrace that looks out over a valley: I typically worked there, and ate breakfast and (often) supper there too. The staff were very welcoming, and most accommodating (e.g. on the last day I checked out, and left my bags at the hotel; they offered to let me shower when I came to pick up the bags). The location suited my purposes. The chef makes very nice salads. Breakfast - I chose coffee, omelet, toast, and fruit - set me up for the working day."
"Although central, the hotel is on a dirt road that is poorly lit at night (but safe nonetheless). On foot, it is a 15-20 minute climb up to the center of Kigali. The room and bathroom were functional, but not particularly modern."
"The service here was really wonderful! Even shortly after booking our stay many months in advance, John Yves offered to help me and my friend with a logistical challenge we were trying to solve for a portion of our trip. The extra effort he put into that request was super appreciated! When we arrived in Kigali, our driver (I believe his name was Frank?) was very patient as we experienced a slight delay during security processes on the way out. He also took the time to point out some of the points of interest during our drive to the hotel. Everyone was very accommodating during our stay. The front desk team volunteered to store our bags for us while we left for a day trip in-between nights at this hotel, and they also helped me to secure Rwandan franc currency denominations for a collection. Thank you so much for all your kindness and service!"

"Nena House was a true gem. Hidden away, off the beaten path in western Rwanda, this beautiful property was a surprise and delight for my husband and I. Our hostess was wonderful and accommodating, the food was delicious and local, and the room/cottage was clean and spacious. But the real aspect of this location that won us over was that just outside the accommodations was a tiny tavern where locals came to drink, enjoy and rest after a days long work. It was a great way to connect with local residents, get to know a little bit about their lives and enjoy a frosty beer. Early in the evening, music was played and everyone had a wonderful time. The bartender was warm and welcoming and the hostess explained that the tavern was her original family home, now converted. The best part was that long before bedtime approached, the party ended and the quiet landscape became a wonderful oasis. I adored this place and found it so charming."
